Happy Labor Day!
There's not a lot of good that comes with the end of summer, but college and NFL football surely help. I know some troops abroad read this sight, so we want to take a quick second as we do every holiday to thank all the fine men and women who risk their lives for this country.
Seventeen years ago to the DAY, the Redskins opened their season with a Monday Night home against...the Dallas Cowboys! The Death Star was coming off their Super Bowl win but we're playing without Emmitt Smith, who was holding out at the time. It was a FINE day for the Burgundy and Gold who shredded the Cowboys 35-16 in Richie Petitbon's first game as a head coach.
What was Mark Rypien's final season with the Skins, he threw for three TD passes. BMitch ran for 116 yards on 21 carries and 2s TD along with single TD receptions from Ricky Sanders and Art Monk. The Redskins forced 4 turnovers that game, something I hope they repeat 6 days from now. HTTR.

CAREFUL WHAT YA WISH FOR....
If memory serves….and it may not ‘cause I’m OLD…..but I think 1993’s opening win against Dallas still led to a woeful 4-12 season. (Sound familiar?)
So, from that perspective, let’s hope 2010 treats us a bit better.
Maybe starting on a Sunday night instead of a Monday night will help! Here’s hoping it does!
Good - he's not the receiver we're looking for
Slow, expensive and aging. He’s a solid journeyman type with good hands, but a role player only.
i don't think the argument presumes he's larry fitz
Dude, he signed for $855,000. We’ve paid Malcolm Kelly alone over $1.95 million in salary & bonuses since we decided to draft that P.O.S. It’s so unnecessary to play sour grapes with Housh, our wide receivers are by a universe the worst unit in the NFC East and definitely are contesting for that spot in the entire NFL
We’re relying on a feel-good camp revelation (Anthony Armstrong), Santana Moss (whose speed is not what it used to be & based on his diminishing TD totals, is pretty much only a deep threat/isn’t a threat in the red zone like his younger, more aggressive Eagles counterpart DeSean Jackson), Malcolm Kelly, Devin Thomas, Roydell Williams, and very optimistic, probably too optimistic, hopes of what two TE sets could do for us. We definitely could have used a sure pair of hands like Housh’s, & if he’s ‘just a role player’, I shudder at what abysmal category our wideouts belong in.

3-13 in fact
but at least we beat Dallas once! A win on sunday guarantees from the start that the season isn’t a total loss.
Here's to a Skins win over the Cowgirls on Sunday night...
…and a Hokies win tonight at FedEx. Looks like Tech is finally coming back.

baltimore ....really?
ok…..thats the first guy who went by who I really wanted, and I try to visualize Shanny…..after making OTA’s and practice so important, it almost defy’s that message he is bringing ….after everything, especially with Haynesworth, you have to give props with the MEN who hung tight. That is the change of the culture…..and we have to stand solid behind it
…..we have a huge possibilty here, but assr it doesn’t happen in one season…..and we have Kyle too? HTTR…..TO ALL YOU NEGATIVE REDSKINS POSTERS…..there is bloggin for thee boys..
