Laurence Maroney
I thought that I read where he was let go by New England. If so , how serious of a look does he deserve ? If priced right would he be a worthwhile addition to our running game ? I dont know why NE released him , but if it is not injury related he might be just what our running game needs? He can be a beast..
I also believe that there is going to be a good pool of talent released by teams , so there may be better rb.s becoming available?

I don't think he's done much beasting in the NFL
and it’s still just an unconfirmed rumor that he’ll be cut.
I’d take him for the veteran minimum. He’s not worth much more than that.

In the simplest words...
I dont know why NE released him
Because he is not good at playing the game of football
(and he has yet to be released)
VOID!!!
a fatal flaw for sure

I'd still rather get Lynch from Buffalo
That would at least give us some teeth on the goal line and short yardage. I’m not sold on LJ, and Portis isn’t going to take a constant pounding between the tackles for 16 games.
Ironic description for Lynch
teeth on the goal line

Or Kevin Smith from Detroit
I think he’d be worth a look at the very least.

If they cut Smith
who was a 1st round pick (I believe), then something more serious must be going on with that knee.
Kevin Smith
I believe was a 2nd. Very talented and balanced runner. I liked him a lot during the Lions oh so exciting 0-16 year. Him and Calvin Johnson were the big bright spots on the offense. If he was to be released, I agree, I think there is more issues with that knee. Him and Best would make a good combo, and there would be no reason to cut him unless that’s an issue.
Eww
I wouldn’t touch a NE RB with a stick. If any of them was good enough, they wouldn’t be on the patriots. Only reason a NE RB gains yard is because of a nice OL and the defense is always thinking pass. I don’t want Maroney at all.
How about TJ Houshmanzadeh?
read he is on the verge of being cut.
He's definately not being cut, they are trying to trade him
And we have nothing of value to trade for him, and if you say “draft picks” then I’m personally coming up to Boston to come after you.
take it easy, take it easy
wouldn’t give up more than a 2015 7th round pick, if I had a say in the matter….don’t think Shanny or Allen will take my calls
The News
T.J. Houshmandzadeh is increasingly unlikely to play for the Seahawks this season, according to the Seattle Times.
Our View
It sounds more and more like the Seahawks may indeed cut him if they’re unable to find a trade partner. His fantasy value certainly takes a hit, though he should latch on elsewhere before long, this assuming that he is indeed no longer in Seattle.

They will probably try and trade Jarmon
and SEA really needs another 4-3DE

Actually...
The Seattle Seahawks have informed wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh that he will be released if no trade options materialize, a league source said Friday. A trade is highly unlikely, considering Houshmandzadeh’s $7 million price tag for this season.
Possible landing spots for Houshmandzadeh include the Oakland Raiders, Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings.
Plus, I’m watching NFL Network right now and it just flashed across the screen that he was released.
Must sign.
Housh is versatile enough to play any WR spot, strong or weak, slot, whatever. Basically allows us to plug him in at any spot to relieve the starter at that position, once he gets up on the playbook. I still like either Armstrong or Thomas for #2 starter, but if they don’t step up, TJ gives you a steady presence there as well for an every-play kind of guy. He’s not in his prime, but he’s not far past it either (Galloway).
TJ Houshmanzadeh
First I’m not knocking the guy . I dont know much about him , but isnt he only 6’2 .
For the sake of our QBs and the TEAM wouldn’t a taller target receiver be higher up on our WANT list? 6’4-6’5 ish.

Wow
I do think we should pursue him. DON’T OVERPAY, but definitely give him a shot. Great possession guy, would be a very good balanced addition to Moss, a speed guy, and the rest of the skill sets we have at receiver. Aside from Malcolm Kelly, we really don’t have a big guy with great hands.
