Why isn't Chris Hanburger in the Hall of Fame? The former Redskin linebacker was elected to the Pro Bowl nine times during his careeer which is still the most in Redskin history. Additionally, eight times he was named first team all NFC, four times he was first team all NFL, two times he was second team all NFL, and once he was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year. There are players already in Canton whose resume isn't as impressive as Hanburger's. Yet three decades after his retirement I never hear his name offered for consideration not to mention election. My only thought as to why not is that Hanburger was not exactly a vibrant personality during his playing days which may not have endeared him with the media but that obviously shouldn't matter. In my opinion, this is a terrible oversight and needs to be rectified by the Veterans Committee.
