The Haynesworth Test, at a Much Lower Level

As many of you know, I coach high school football. We are still in the conditioning phase of our summer workouts. I have put my guys through plyo, hills, shuttles, box drill, dot drill, countless agility circuits, curbs, and tires.

Today, after a brutal agility and plyo workout in 90 degree heat and humidity, I made my team do the "Haynesworth Test", as I like to call it.

Now keep in mind that these kids range from ages 13 to 17. Some have never played football before. I had a mix of linemen and skill players at my conditioning tonight. So here was the drill:

Cones set up 25 yards apart. The guys started on the line at the first set of cones. They ran to the second set of cones(25 yards away), touched the line with their hand, and rand back to the start line. They did this 12 times, to equal a total of 300 yards worth of running. They had to touch the line with their hand each time. The first shuttle, which I was timing, had to be completed in 70 seconds. They were given a 3 min rest between shuttles. the second shuttle had to be completed in 73 seconds.

NOT ONE OF THE GUYS FAILED TO COMPLETE THE SHUTTLES IN THE REQUIRED TIMES!

Point of the story: Haynesworth is playing the Redskins for all they are worth.
