To be clear, I am a Texans fan, former Oiler fan, native to Houston. Which also means that I loathe most things Dallas, foremost being the Cowboys. Because of this, many years ago I decided to take an observational interest in another team from the NFC East, one who I could root for to potentially crush them twice a year like clockwork. I chose the Redskins, in part because I felt their tradition was stronger, in part because Philly fans are A-holes and Giants fans are not too far behind, and in part because I felt that the program was being run so professionally, year after year, that it would be consistently in a position to win, and to accomplish my particular need of inflicting pain upon moronic Cowboy fans.
Then along came Snyder(Snider?sp?). Despite the fact that the Redskins have not been too successful under his ownership, I do not ever shift my loyalties once I have made a decision. Which brings me to my question: If you listen to interviews with him, and media speculation, he gives all the appearance of a guy who wants nothing more than to win, to win a championship. So how do honest, diehard Redskins fans feel about a man who can't seem to build a team correctly? How do you feel about bad contracts, bad coaching hires, coaching hires who should have been given more of a chance but were let go, etc?
Is it enough that your owner seems to want it? Do you forgive and keep waiting, year after year? Or do you think it will never get better until the day he sells the team to somebody else? What are your theories on why the guy can't seem to quite get it right, ever?
I need you to get back to your Cowboy-humiliating ways please. The sooner the better. If you are not playing the Texans, I always pull for you. We get our chance to hammer them in week 4 this year, but that doesn't come often enough. I need yearly gratification. No doubt you do too. Good luck this year.
