CBSSports.com Updated 2010 Redskins Fantasy Projections

Based on CBSSpports.com's latest projected Fantasy Points, the Redskins have the following players in the top 50 for each position (rank is in parentheses):

QB: Donovan McNabb(15). Given the current state of the Redskins WRs, I can't argue much. However, directly below McNabb is Big Ben, Matt Cassel, and Chad Henne. Odd company since McNabb usually crushes it in fantasy every year.

RB: Clinton Portis (27). They have Brandon Jacobsranked higher than Portis. I can't say I agree with that. To put Portis' ranking in perspective, Ladanian Tomlinson is projected to score 3 less points than Clinton. I guess that sounds about right when you consider the RB by committee.

Star-divide

WR
: Santana Moss(34). Tana is projected to get the same number of FPTS as Terrell Owens. Hard to argue against that one, but I still think Tana will have a huge year stats-wise.

TE: Chris Cooley (11); Fred Davis(26). I think we all know Fred will move up at least 10 spots this year, especially given the WR woes.

K: Graham Gano (30). It's simple that CBS doesn't know how good this kid is yet. Top 10 next year, and he's more than welcome on my fantasy team next month.

DST: Redskins (12). Sounds about right.

In June, we announced a new partnershipbetween SB Nation and CBSSports.com that gives SB Nation readers 50% off of the award-winning CBSSports.com Fantasy Football Commissioner League. Readers of SB Nation save $90 thanks to this deal. Use this link to capitalize on this offer, if you feel so inclined.

My thoughts

McNabb
Averages 12 games played per year – so his fantasy projections are lowered accordingly. I can’t see him finishing below Chad Henne though.

Portis
Part of me wants to say Portis will have another productive year, but the realist in me thinks that his best days are behind him, and the OL is unproven.

Santana Moss
Even in his good years he was inconsistent. 34th might be a few spots too low though. He’s a fantasy WR3

Cooley & Fred Davis

They hurt each other’s value. It’s a complete unknown how many looks each is going to get.

Graham Gano
Kickers are dumb and not worth my precious time.

Redskins D
Tough to say. For the past decade we’ve had an elite defense but a bad fantasy defense b/c we don’t get turnovers or sacks (prior to last year). Things could change this year though.
