The Sacramento Bee just posted an amazing Colt Brennan article from his first few days as a Raider. First and foremost, I've never been a Colt (on-the-field) fan, but some of these facts are just fantastic. He will see action in Thursday night's game at Dallas, and it should be a show since he's only had 3 practices to date to learn an entire new playbook. Some great facts from the article:
He backed up Matt Leinart at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana. He was kicked off the University of Colorado's roster as a redshirt freshman for walking drunk into a female classmate's dorm room and pleading guilty to trespassing and burglary charges and spending a week in jail. He played a year of community college ball at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, washed up in Honolulu, learned enough Samoan to give signals at the line of scrimmage and became an icon in the 50th state before earning his bachelor's degree in communications. Current Raiders Center, Samson Satele, was his center at Hawaii. He lived in SoCal and wsa a huge Raiders fan, like his Dad, growing up.
As bad as Kyle Boller is, I can't see Colt taking his spot. Secondly, that drunken entrance into a girl's dorm (I think we've all done this once in our life)....what the hell did he steal that warranted a burglary charge??? If I had one guess, it would involve something made of lace. A week in jail is one stiff punishment (pun intended).
I'm actually rooting for Colt to throw 2 TDs because I'm really curious to see what the Cult of Colt looks like from an outsider's view...although I'm sure Campbell would dread going through the "START COLT!!" drama again.
