Redskins Line-up if Season Started Today

If the season started today how would you feel about this line-up, with everybody being healthy? And what positions would you change????? And can a slim Haynesworth be better at DE or NT? Take his speed and strength in consideration....

You could have shown another level in the poll such as 9-7 or 8-8 which is closer to what the Skins have polled elsewhere.

Carriker might not be the starter at RDE and another LB with proven pass coverage ability might start. Perhaps Draft depending on how well Carter adjust to the LB position in the training camp and pre-season games.

8-8 with that line-up and the schedule. Maybe 9-7 with a shot at the playoffs.

Line-up

Daniels could beat out Carriker, and Horton or Doughty could beat out Moore. I’d be surprised if anybody beat out Carter. There is a big gap between 4-12 and the playoffs. I’m thinking 9-7 or 10-6, but I’m an optimist.

at least...9-7 or better

My opinion is based on AH as a TEAM player…which means that he is willing to play NT (i dont think that NT should be his permanent position)
BUT I think that he should Develop the Ability to play both positions
If the Skins can use him at either position at their will, they will be BETTER !! Awsome

Injuries and momentum play such a big roll

That if we could keep all these starters, with the motivation we have right now, we could be superbowl contenders.

But as always in most sports

(Especially football) all of this is dependent on big “If’s”. IF injuries don’t plague us, then we have a good shot at making the playoffs. IF Haynesworth plays, our d-line is better. IF we have a good start, then the momentum and motivation is there.

But again, these are all If’s. There’s similar if’s surrounding every team, so it’s not like we’re alone. Anyway, I’m guessing 9-7 or 10-6, however like Donnio I’m an eternal optimist. I’m not old enough to be cynical. :)

I'm back. YAY SUMMER!

That was my point too.

We have the talent, but like every team in the league we’re susceptible to a bad season (or good) depending on injuries (or lack-of).

Good set up

Our defense actually looks pretty damn nice IF everyone transitions well. Haynesworth, even at 330, is the perfect NT, BUT, we should play him where he wants to play on the d-line, because he’ll play harder if he is where he wants (thus, put him at DE). I agree with what some others have said, I think Philip Daniels could be Carriker out for the DE spot (Philip is like the perfect 3-4 DE, 300lbs, super strong, run stopper). And while I don’t see it, Horton could push Moore, the issue though is that both Horton and Doughty are natural SS’s, and neither really should be a FS at all, because of their physical play and aggressiveness. Artis Hicks may get pushed by Rinehart if he has fully recovered, but otherwise, it’s a pretty good lineup. My biggest question mark is will this run game actually work like people are hoping to? If it works, we are looking at big success, if it isn’t, then just a 3-4 game, normal improvement.

Okay

So, what are you gonna take? The athlete or the football player? Carriker has better potential, but Daniels has the heart, toughness, and passion for the game that is unparalleled by Carriker. Carriker will start when Daniels retires, but Daniels isn’t just an athlete, he is a football player, and that’s what a football team needs.

Not to be picky

but I imagined it that London and Rocky would be switched with London on the right as opposed to how you are showing it. Not sure why it might make a difference, though.

I’m liking what I’m seeing with this lineup and some of the substitution things we can do. For example, you didn’t show the double TE set I think we’ll see. Also, I’d like to see the rookie TE in at FB with Davis and Cooley lined up to one side with Davis in the slot. It would make for a hard play to defend since it would put a lot of pressure to defend against the run, as it’s essentially a semi-jumbo package. Yet all 3 TEs are very fast and athletic for their size in the passing game. Put LJ in at RB, Malcom Kelly out wide and this is a great goal line package.
