Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

Jackpot.....Skins claim 2007's Mr. Irrelevant.....

Skins just claimed CB Ramzee Robinson off waivers from the Browns.  He was 2007 Mr. Irrelevant and has played for the Lions (drafted in 2007),   He was a member of the Eagles for less than a month late last year and was claimed by the Browns the day after being waived by Philly.  For his career.....he has totaled 29 tackles and a 15-yard penalty for taunting Green Bay's James Jones after an incomplete pass bringing up a fourth down....which was then a first down Packers....all during the Lions 0-16 season.

Ramzee Robinson

They must see some potential in him. Probably just brought in for competition.

Ramzee Robinson has played more on special teams than

as a DB. He has good speed, but is not big. If he sticks on the roster, he likely would be the 5th DB. It is like is competing with Buchanon and Tyron. Barnes increasingly looking like he is on the bubble since the team will probably on keep 5 CBs. The team currently has 8 CBs. Dutch, Westbrook, and Barnes will be the cuts unless the carries 6 CBs. Special teams capability will weigh heavy on who is kept. Ramzee did well in 2008 ST (punt coverage) play.

I can't see Barnes getting cut

He’s only entering his 2nd season. He was a 3rd round pick. He is an asset on special teams, and could be prime to take over for Rogers in a year or two. This kid is very talented, but he just needs to refine his technique a little. He could even make the move to safety if needed.

Entering his second year, he still qualifies for a spot on the practice squad, but trust me, if that were to happen, he would not last very long there. Some other team would swoop in and sign him away from us.

This should be a pivotal year for Barnes. He should get every opportunity in preseason to step up and show the staff he’s ready to take the next step. Expect him to be on the 53 man roster when the season starts, along with Hall, Rogers, Tryon and Buchanon.

FWIW, I wouldn’t be all that surprised if we were to keep 6 CB’s this season, with one of them serving as our primary punt returner.

Competition

I,m not overwhelmed by ‘Just Good " smaller CB’s….but he will sent a WAKEUP CALL to other members and potential members that they need to come into camp Prepared…The Skins are SERIOUS about playing the best possible…they will continue putting this TEAM together throughout the summer….
Come August…… Get ready for some football

It's tragic....

This may be the first offseason of the past decade where I am pretty happy with what this team is doing. I didn’t crack many jokes last offseason!

What are you TALKING ABOUT??

How could you watch Zorn on the sideline and NOT crack jokes? Even if just to yourself.

Oh, okay

I thought we were supposed to toss them during bad times and roundhouse kick them in the face during the good times. All this time I had it backwards. Boy, don’t I feel silly.

We have a guy on the roster who

knows how to handle kids. Of course, his method almost got him time in the slammer.

maybe

they brought him in so albert would have somebody to relate to?

you know, someone who shows no regard for another life?
