Does anyone not think that Shanahan was setting Haynesworth up

I think that this has been Shanahan's plan from Day 1. He meets with Big Al. Tells him that he can leave if he would like but if he's on the payroll on April 1st and takes the check, he's got to show up. Well, then after he took the check, Shanahan starts talking more about the NT position and some of the players like Phillip Daniels and London Fletcher start yapping about how Al needs to buy into the new defense. So Big Al starts to get pissed that he's being forced into something because he took the check. Now, he wants a trade and he looks like the schmuck on all levels. There is no going back from here and Shanahan gets what he wanted. He went out and took on the toughest guy in the yard and kicked his behind out of town. No one's going to mess with him now.

Don't cry for Danny's money, it's already spent and he makes plenty. They now have the leverage to trade or do with Albert whatever they want. If they can't trade him for a good pick now, they will wait. Someone is going to get injured and someone will come calling. If he does show up for training camp, he's going to be the elephant in the middle of the room. He's not going to want to be there and the Skins, if they can't trade him for something decent, will be able to get some of the money back.

Regardless, they got him in a position where they can really beat him up good. They can do it in the press, they might be able to do it in court, if he shows up to camp, they can do it on the field or in the locker room.
