Pick fights with former teammates
without AH there to back them up…
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
"But coach,
those guys are so fast after thet get the ball, and nobody ever made it on ESPN for covering well enough to not get thrown to."
There is a surplus of OLBs on the current Skin's roster.
The label “P” indicates my opinion that the players position may change. The label “C” is my opinion of possible cuts. I expect the Team to keep 5 OLBs and 4 ILBs. The players with “?” may be on the bubble to make the roster or be traded if the players with “P” don’t get new posititon assignments. I expect the players with “X” to be on the roster. May 1 or 2 players out of this bunch will be on the practice squad.

Jarmon
A number of items on HH say JJ is going to lose weight and be an OLB. Others are saying the team wants “everybody” to gain weight. The 3-4 is changing everything, and I think the team is being a little deceptive (fine with me). Your list suggests that, unless Jarmon changes back to DE, Wilson and Draft will be battling for the last OLB slot. I would think that guys who can fit into both the 3-4 and 4-3 would have an edge.
On Jarmon
Until he is fully able to participate in all on field activities the Team will have limited means of evaluating how Jarmon should be used. He has said that his problem is keeping weight off rather than adding weight. The reason that he was in the supplemental draft was that he was using a weight reduction product that had something in it not approved by the NCAA so he got suspended. The 3-4 requires more depth for inside linebackers than does the 4-3 defense. Most comments that I have seen suggested that inside ILBs in the 3-4 need to be larger than in the 4-3, hence some think Fletcher is not big enough. What is big enough seems to vary a lot. For instance, Vonnie Holiday played 3-4 DE at 285 lbs. successfully, but that is often considered too light for that position. Also Haslett has said that Alexander is an ideal size for a OLB. Generally weight is perceived to reduce speed. Obviously what matters is whether or not the player can get the job done. The player’s ability on special teams is an additional factor, especially for the backup.
