This is the most ideal first round (but obviously things will change with trades and pick swapping)
(1)St. Louis Rams – Sam Bradford…(They have a TON of glaring holes, but there is no way you’d start the season with AJ Feeley as your starter.)
(2)Detroit Lions - Ndamukong Suh…Coach Schwartz gets his “disruptor” on the defensive line, and makes it a line that you must account for during games.
(3)Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Gerald McCoy…The run defense was terrible to say the least, and McCoy fits the Tampa 2 scheme very well.
(4)Washington Redskins - Trent Williams…I think both Okung and Williams are great, but it seems that Williams is better for the zone blocking scheme.
(6)Seattle Seahawks - CJ Spiller…Yes the Offensive Line is horrible, but Spiller is a playmaker, your return guy, your 3rd down change of pace back. He and Justin Forsett make an interesting 1-2 punch in a weak division. Pete Carroll gets his “Reggie Bush-esque player here.”
(7)Cleveland Browns - Eric Berry…The Browns defense lacked to make plays on the back-end last year, Berry will give them that instantly. His talent and skill is simply too much to pass up, and his skill set will help them immensely in one of the league’s toughest divisions.
(8)Oakland Raiders - Bruce Campbell…All you have to look at is their draft history, they will pick Campbell due to his freak of nature combine performance.
(9)Buffalo Bills - Jimmy Clausen…Trent Edwards has failed to deliver, and the new coaching staff in Buffalo will want “their guy.” At the very least, drafting Jimmy C. will generate some excitement, as opposed to an offensive lineman or defensive player for the 3-4.
(10)Jacksonville Jaguars - Derrick Morgan…They tried to address their defensive line through free agency, which was mediocre at best. Morgan will be an upgrade and help with the ongoing quest to put Peyton Manning on his back.
(11)Denver Broncos from Chicago – Maurkice Pouncey…They have obvious needs (WR, TE) but O-Line is a must. Casey Wiegmann is no longer with the team, and Pouncey is the best Center in the draft this year.
(13)San Francisco 49ers – Joe Haden, Great player and a great pick for Coach Mike Singletary as he fills a huge need at Corner.
(14)Seattle Seahawks from – Bryan Bulaga…Offensive Line help is huge and Bulaga falling to 14 is a great pick in terms of value.
(15)NY Giants - Rolando McClain…Giants fans will have a new Stud MLB, now that Antonio Pierce is no longer with the team. McClain is the best interior LB in the draft and one of the biggest need positions for the G-Men.
(18)Pittsburgh Steelers - Golden Tate…They could go defense here, but there is a gaping hole with Santonio Holmes being traded to the Jets. They need another play-maker, and Hines Ward isn’t getting any younger.
(19)Atlanta Falcons – Sean Weatherspoon…The best OLB in the draft will fit nicely in the ATL. He’s got speed, size, and will help try to take the defense to the next level.
(20)Houston Texans - Earl Thomas…They could use a running back, but Thomas is just too good to pass up.
(21)Cincinnati Bengals – Taylor Mays…The Bengals arguably have the slowest safety in the league in Roy Williams, Coach Marvin Lewis loves his USC players (Carson Palmer, Rey Maulaga, Keith Rivers…and don’t forget Frostee Rucker). Mays will give them a dynamic player from the Safety spot.
(24)Philadelphia Eagles – Kyle Wilson…They could trade up and take a safety (as could Dallas) but getting Wilson is great. After Asante Samuel there are some questions, as well as Wilson’s value in the return game.
(26)Arizona Cardinals – Jermaine Gresham…Without Boldin and Warner, the offense needs a playmaking TE on its roster.
(32)New Orleans Saints – Jerry Hughes…A speed pass rusher who is a great fit for Gregg Williams’ aggressive defensive style.
Potential Trades: Philadelphia and Dallas trading up to get a safety. Cleveland, Washington, Denver all trading back to acquire more picks, as well as the New England Patriots to trade into the first round.
Key Players not in the first round who could be selected: Tim Tebow, Rodger Saffold, Kareem Jackson, Devin McCourty, Colt McCoy.
