Three-year, $10.3 million deal according to Adam Schefter. The Browns also signed Scott Fujita, formerly of the New Orleans Saints.

Look...

I was glad with not paying big money where it doesn’t need to paid but we do need SOME help! Now I’m starting to get concerned….

Penny wise and pound foolish

Lost him for pennies – what a shame. Shape up guys, before it’s too late!

Gaither

On the local radio in Bmore they were speculating that the Ravens might look to unload Gaither for a 2nd round pick b/c they are desperate not to pay both him and Oher, LT money.

If this is the case would you guys be for getting Gaither for a 2nd round pick. IMO I’d say mos def.

Interesting

this is the first time this off-season I’d consider trading.

where do we rank Gaither? Top 15 LT?

I'd probably go a little higher than top 15

Almost certainly better than anyone we could get with a second rounder. Plus he’s 23 and proven and then we wouldn’t have a gun to our head with the #4 and can go BPA or even better trade down.

I likee all about that.

PFF

Ranked him as the 6th best Tackle last year and 11th the year before.

I would give them

Moss and Carlos for him. Heap is getting up there, but not sure I’d want to give up Cooley for him – but I might!

They need help in the secondary

Maybe Carlos and Doughty? Honestly I think they would take just a high second rounder and I am cool with that trade.

by BayAreaBullet on Mar 8, 2010 6:32 PM EST up reply actions

He is tendered a 1st round.

Baltimore won’t move him for less than a 1st until draft day . During the draft, tendered players will move, but not before. There may be a score of draft day deals being made because of all these tenders.

by johnnydee83 on Mar 9, 2010 1:57 AM EST up reply actions

Well it has been reported on ESPN and elsewhere they are willing to part with him for a second rounder

and they certainkly only put a first round tender on him to entice people to ask about him much like we did with Campbell.

It doesn't make sense to make any deals yet, unless they get a great offer.

Teams will start to panic during the draft as targeted players get picked early. Then you see deals getting made. Patience usually pays off in making transactions. If I were the Ravens I would definately wait, the guy is a great young tackle already under their control. No reason to trade him. Campbell, if he is traded, probably would go during the draft.

Colts just released their starting guard.

Lilja, 28 years old. He took offense to Polian calling out the line in the playoffs.

by SSBlitz on Mar 8, 2010 7:12 PM EST reply actions

Interesting. I'd take him for a mid-level contract.

So Polian

either Sr or Jr is saying you cannot win with a superstar QB unless you have an OLine.

I defer to their expertise and call the debate over. OLine First, then QB. Done.
