Emmitt Smith BLASTS Dan Snyder
Dan Snyder is like Milhouse. Only I can make fun of him ("I" being Redskins fans). I take offense when our Admiral gets blasted not only by a Cowboy, but by any external party, especially when the person doing the blasting has never met Snyder.
Any chance of Canton being fight-free with Grimm and Smith both getting inducted just went out the window.

It's a general policy in life
How can you criticize someone (especially that publicly) if you’ve never met them? It’s one thing if you’re fans, especially on the internet like us, but come on Emmitt, that’s just dumb. Especially with Jerry Jones’ ego, plastic surgery, etc…he’s worse.

Typical Jimmy...
I deliver a great argument and you focus on 1 word….
By “worse”….I mean I’d rather have Snyder over JJ. Dallas is what WAS was…amazing team…1 free agent away. Snyder finally handed over the keys and it shows. Pastos, a FA the Skins are wooing….was seen having dinner w/ Mike Shanahan and Chris Foerster tonight.
No Snyder. Cowboys will always be “good”…but in this era of the NFL…JJ and his expertise is not putting together a franchise. Shanahan and Bruce Allen have a better chance…hence…JJ is worse.

Especially if you're going to attack a person's character
You can say he’s made bad football moves, sure. But to say he’s not compassionate? How would he know? And the face of the ‘90s Cowboys accusing someone of arrogance and pride is beyond ridiculous. Emmitt Smith has a long history of saying stupid things as a commentator though, so this doesn’t really surprise me.
Emmitt just sealed his HoF induction
I actually applaud the guy for what he did in DAL…he was a stud. But when he gets announced, I originally at the worst was gonna stay quiet…maybe a golf clap…but after this…..BOO birds are coming.

Is it really your policy not to criticize people you haven't met
I’m guessing that’s a policy you break all the time. There are plenty of people I can know are terrible people by their actions whether or not I’ve ever met them.
Smith - a dumbhead
Just shows you can be a moron and a great football player at the same time. The clown never even met Dan, and he calls him arrogant?! Snyder has never said or done one thing that could be considered arrogant. He is very soft spoken and unfailingly pleasant. And not compassionate? How can dumbie know? He heard one story about Dan supposedly refusing to bend on a ticket contract, and that makes him a meanie? Dan is very smart, an entrepreneur, personally generous, probably a little impulsive. What makes Smith think he has the right to pass judgement on Dan Snyder’s character or morality? Disgusting.
Yeah Really
I agree completely, Emmit Smith was undoubtedly a great football player but he also just showed all of us that he is a complete ass that has no brain-mouth filter. I’m sure Dan has made mistakes (because he’s human) but he isn’t arrogant and has plenty of compassion for his team. GO SKINS! and Emmit Smith can go suck an egg for lack of a better word.
Agreed
Dude has to be the dumbest MF I have ever had to listen to commentate anything. I enjoy laughing though, due to the fact he was indeed a Cowboy. Would be cool to see Grimm jaw-jack him on stage too.
A Cowboy AND a Gator
No accounting for taste, to say the least. How is that Gator edumacation working for you, Smiff?
I loved it when he was an announcer. You never knew what might struggle to get out of his mouth, but you knew it was going to be dumb and/or lacking diction or any resemblance to grammatically correct English. Aaahaahahahahaha…
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
Who cares.....
I am sure all owners have flaws, some may come across people as having a dark side. When bad decisions are made the wine turns to vinegar. We all know it can be a cut throat business at times when putting together a team hence larger paydays. Just like any job when it fails s``~it flows downhill to general manager coaches players. Things in DC seem to be better lately and their will always be opinons. I hope this new game plan works with Shanny – Allen taking over.
Who is Emmitt talking about?
Dan Snyder or Michael Irvin:
“You know, you hate to see pride, wearing itself on his forehead and his chest. And to me, arrogance sticks out like a sore thumb when you talk about him.”
Dan Snyder or Jerry Jones:
“Because here is a guy who thought he could build a football team just because he has the money to buy players. There’s more to it than that.”

And The Response
“I applaud Emmitt Smith’s induction into the NFL Hall of Fame and, from what I understand, he’s a heck of a dancer,” Snyder said. “I think we’ve only met once briefly at an NFL function in 2000. I will
say, however, that I like to think of myself as being a compassionate person, except toward the Dallas Cowboys.”
And Rich Tandler put's Snyder's Statement in context
Typically, the best way to handle these type of situations is with no response, Snyder choose to respond…
Well, perhaps the fact that Snyder’s mind is on minor PR flaps is a good thing. At least he’s not spending his time in the film room or with the coaching staff "helping" them to formulate their draft board and free agency plans.
Damn, it sure is feeling good to be a Redskin’s Fan with a owner will to spend money, but NOT involved
Yeah
this may be the proudest I’ve ever been of Snyder. Although, it woulda been nice to see him take a jab at Emmitt’s illiteracy. Something like “I’m glad Emmitt chose to make the statement in print, where an editor can make sure I understand what he’s saying.”

This isn't what it seems.
What does a lack of compassion have to do with building a team through free agency? From all acounts, they don’t know each other, at all. So how does he know he has a lack of compassion? Maybe Smith is talking about the plane full of supplies Snyder sent down to Haiti to help the victims of the recent earthquake, was it not big enough? How much of Smith’s own money did he send down to Haiti?
I would argue the exact opposite on the lack of compassion issue when it comes to free agency, if that is what Smith is talking about. Yes Snyder has tried to build his teams through free agency but the effect it has had on players has been a plus. Snyder has essentially driven up the price on free agents for the better part of a decade, thus benefiting the players all around the league. Didn’t Smith become a free agent who played for the Cardinals at one point?
To say that Smith is mad that the Redskins were building through free agency which was very not to arguably hurting the team and benefiting everyone else in the league is absurd.
So what’s he mad about? Deion Sanders came to Washington, got a boatload of money, produced nothing like his contract paid him and walked away a happy, rich man. This has happened numerous times under the Snyder era. Perhaps Smith is mad this scenario didn’t happen to him.
Smith was drafted when their was no free agency and the game has changed significantly since. Let’s look at one example. On one Monday night in september 2005, two free agents named Mark Brunell and Santana Moss torched the Cowboys in the final few minutes of the game to send the Redskins to a shocking victory over the Cowboys, a game which was completely dominated for 55 minutes by the Cowboys. On that night the trio of Smith, Aikman and Irvin were inducted into the Cowboys ring of honor. That year, the Cowboys missed the playoffs by one game. Yeah, that would have pissed me off to.

GO SKINS......Smiths words don`t hold any water...
Smith is at best a bonehead, I could possibly see his arguement if the Skins won several Super Bowls because of free agency and dominated everyone but we know that did not happen. The Redskins are not the only team that used the free agent route to address needs. If I remember Smith held out for big money during his time in Dallas obviously putting his self before his own team during the regular season. So honestly two wrongs don`t make a right. He was washed up when he left Dallas anyway again for money and to add to his rushing yardage total. Jim Brown was better than him anyway as was Barry Sanders.
Emmit obviously played
and made little in comparison to what some others have made…
he is almost as arrogant as Carlos Rogers…bonus money…he already banked and 2.5 million to him is “cheap”?…that guy did nothing for almost 3 years and now he is a bargain?
maybe it is all Danno’s fault
FUCK YOU EMMITT SMITH
remember what snyder did when sean taylor died? Remeber what he did when todd collins was gonna have a baby born during a game week a couple years ago? Remember what Chris Samuels said about him in his retirement presser? You’ve never even met him and obviously haven’t “heard” jack shit about him or else you would’ve known that he had down those things. I hate the cowgirls so much I can’t put it in words. What a douche…
I'm not booing Stephon Heyer, he's trying hard. I'm booing the fact that Stephon Heyer plays for us.

The pot calling the kettle black...
Ummmm….who does Emmitt Smith believe that Dan Snyder got his “style” from??? None other than Jerry Jones.
Nuff said.
he's a Cowboy, what do you expect?
and a clueless one at that. The main thing I remember about him was that he never got hit behind the line of scrimmage and he usually didn’t get hit until he was 3 to 4 yards past the line of scrimmage. To me Smith was a very good but not great RB who had the fortune to run behind one of the best offensive lines the league has ever seen.
