He was made the poster boy for the problems that all of our DBs were having last year. And all this talk about his “bad hands”… Yeah, it sucks that he dropped whatever number of possible interceptions he dropped over the years. But keep in mind that he dropped so many because he’s a guy (last year being an exception) who has always had a knack for knocking down passes. He covers well and has a lot of passes defended on his stat sheet. Yeah, sometimes those passes defended should have been interceptions, but having a cornerback who can get his hands on the ball so often isn’t such a bad thing. I don’t think he should be hated for dropping possible interceptions. It’s extremely frustrating, but the man is still knocking down big passes. Again, last year was an exception, but the whole defensive backfield sucked, so there’s no reason he should have taken the majority of the blame for the unit’s problems. Since he did, however, I can definitely see why he wants to be with a new team. Maybe Shanny or Allen can talk him into staying around, but if not, I won’t be booing him (unless he starts playing for a divisional foe).
