the biggest strike

against Caron Butler – he is “great friends” with Tony Oh-No. Both from Wisconsin, Oh-No beat Butler out for Mr. Basketball there.

These teams are idiots then.

A 1st rounder for McNabb?

And those are high first rounders too…. But he’s so old….

by CarverM on Mar 26, 2010 9:36 AM EDT reply actions

It worked for OAK last year...sort of

Seymour is only 30. McNabb is 33 so he probably has at least 3 years left. But yea, I wouldn’t do this trade for anything more than a #2….and only if I was the Cardinals or Vikings who are already Super Bowl caliber. JAX, BUF, and OAK…it’s laughable really.

I hope Mcnabb stays

from what I saw last year, he’s basically done, call me crazy, but ask yourself why Reid is willing to get rid of him.

I think he's still top 10, top 12 QB

He's top 5

He’s only had 2 good WRs at a time on his team once, most years none and he still gets the job done. If they had pulled the trigger on Boldin, Super Bowl contenders.

Top 5? I don't know
He’s only had 2 good WRs at a time on his team once,

That’s about as much as a QB can hope for. 5-7 years ago he was elite with crappy WRs. Now he’s aging, and has a very good WR corps.

Wow really?

Mcnabb will be 34 in nov. He’s never been an accurate passer and he was very innacurate last year and he’s certainly no Kurt Warner. He’s always used his feet to get out of trouble and he looked for the first time to me last year like he slowed down a bit. This is what I think the Eagles brass take notice to.Do I think he can win games, sure I do, but back to the super bowl, NO WAY.
Their not completely sold on Kolb and even though Mcnabb can return them a 1st rounder they seem hesitant on pulling the trigger. From a business standpoint, I would take the 1st rounder hands down. In the end I think they take it though.

by skinsymets on Mar 26, 2010 10:52 AM EDT up reply actions

I'm not saying he'll be top 5 the next 3 years...

But he continually puts up gaudy numbers with a terrible WR corps…not to mention he continually gets his team to the playoffs (from there, they get outmatched for loads of reasons).

He's had good WRs for the past 2 years

Last year, yea

But 2 years ago is questionable. DeSean and who? Reggie Brown…Greg Lewis? Kendra Baskett?

DeSean, Brown & Curtis is perfectly fine WR corps

It’s a far cry from the Pinkston/Thrash days.

Kevin Curtis has played 12 games in the last 2 years

Reggie Brown has 1 TD in 24 games the last 2 years = BUST

But for the past 3 years their WRs have not been 'horrible' as you said.

In 07 & 08 they were average, and last year they were good/great.

= Not horrible.

I guess we have a different opinion on horrible

The Eagles know they’re crappy WRs (reached max potential) yet they continue to stick with them. = horrible

I just think it's inaccurate

to conflate pinkston/thrash with desean jackson and their various supporting WRs

the latter is miles better.

I agree with it all except the terrible wr's

he’s always put up good numbers and I think that’s just who Mcnabb is. He’s seems to just always not have enough no matter who’s on the team. His age now would be very concerning to me If I were in that organization and he has been hurt and out for a number of games in seasons past.

One thing to note on this situation is the Cowboys. They have to be the favorites to win the East this year and the first thing you must do in any division is beat the teams in your division. Certainly the Cowboys are going to be around for a few more years and IMO they are on the rise. Mcnabb was completely owned by the Boys last year and his accuracy isn’t going to get him wins like his feet do. But at his age it’s not going to get any better for him. If I’m every other other team in the division I want him to stay around.

the gaudy numbers might

come from the fact that philly throws the ball 40+ times a game

If Oakland gets McNabb, I fully expect them to be playoff contendors.

Who let Al Davis on Hogs Haven?

They have some decent talent, but as long as Cable is still there (along with Al causing / allowing all kinds of dysfunction), nothing much is going to come of it…

I second this analysis.

Their offense is awful.

I don't even think he'd make it a whole season there

You can ask Brian Orakpo about their O-line.

Serious business.

by ThaRak on Mar 26, 2010 1:12 PM EDT up reply actions

OAK seems most likely to pull the trigger, but....

That also means they won’t be able to steal Jacoby Ford in the 1st round instead of waiting for the 2nd or 3rd round he’s project to go in.

by KenPat on Mar 26, 2010 10:20 AM EDT reply actions

And with their 1st round pick

the Eagles pick Jimmy Clausen. (in my dreams!)

Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.

Berry wont fall past #7

And i doubt he will even drop that far. Eagles should stop wasting their time, Eric Berry isn’t going to be there.

Orakpo!!! Russel Okung next year!
