Lane Kiffen is the biggest Scumbag in the history of Sports: Must Read!
I absolutely hate this man with a passion. He goes against everything that is good in either pro or collegiate sports. The following article is about the recruitment of a 13yr old high school QB from Deleware. the kid was offered a scholarship by Kiffen to play at USC. Thing is, he isn't even elligible to sign his letter of intent to USC until 2015. If this isn't a little out of control, I don't know what is.

I don't understand the outcry.
This kid has dedicated his life to football and a verbal agreement is nothing outrageous in his career path. Sure, deciding in the 7th grade is a little wacky, but nobody said anything when Tiger Woods, LeBron James, or Sidney Crosby were just as dedicated at that age.
This is not about the Kid.
I have no problem with Sills at all. I just don’t know how in the hell Kiffen can offer a 7th grader a full ride to one of the best college football programs in the country without seeing him even take a meaningful snap in a high school game.
I'm not sure how binding a verbal agreement is
if either of them wanted to back out.
It’s clear the kid is skilled, is dedicated to football (even has a personal coach), and loves USC. I don’t see the problem in saying the kid can come to USC. If he sucks by then, he can play back up.
Verbals are not binding at all.
Its just the fact that how do you have any way of knowing how this kid is going to develop, or how good he will be. If kiffen offered him ma schollie in writing, it can still be pulled bu USC so there is nothing really binding at all, but why USC feels the need to do this at this point in the kids young career is beyond me.
Tiller, Lane Kiffin is playing the hand that is dealt him. A verbal is just that, nothing more or less it just helps attract attenion to the program. Tiller do you ever stop hating ? As they say " don't hate the player hate the game".
Lane is playing the game to the fulliest. Oakland – Tenn – USC = True Player
Sorry LJP, I just hate Kiffen and everything he stands for.
Doing this sort of thing just for attention is the wrong thing to do.
I think he's a class ass.
I hope he drives USC into the ground ego first.
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
LK just can't get enought attention
Wait until the NCAA starts really paying attention to the USC program now that Pete Carrol has bugged out. This 7th grader may be going to a program that still isn’t bowl eligible by the time he graduates HS.
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
Wait until you hear all the crap about basketball.
College basketball is by far the worst violator of decency standards. Kids are recruited as early as 8 yrs old; with gifts, promises, agents, ‘help for mom and dad’. The AAU program is all but a sending district to the major colleges. There needs to be a federal investigation with federal laws and strict sanctions against these perps. They could almost be equated to pimps, drug dealers, religous radicalists who promise all gold and glory, but all to often results in tragedy, broken hearts, and split families.
The NCAA is the biggest culprit behind this. They don’t want to stop it.
This happens every year......
I was scouted and talked to about lacrosse when I was in 8th grade by multiple teams. I had buddies who were talked to by college scouts at football camps thrown by players and all kinds of stuff. The business side of the NCAA is nasty…..and it’s bullshit. You have these college basketball and football players putting their careers on the line everyday…..and if the wrong person buys them a sandwich….they lose everything….while the schools are bringing in millions of dollars. I know a lot of the players get a scholarship…..and that is supposed to be their payment……but they don’t all get it….and the school gets a lot out of it. As long as the profits are like they are for the schools….you will always have the letters of intent at 13…..bribes……under the table payments……new homes for the families….cars……all to the detriment of the players. It’s sad!
My nephew,
who is a freshman this year at Florida St had been on the Duke “watch list” since he was 10 due to his combination soccer skills and test scores. He was also on a “pre-olympian” watch list for soccer. It’s just a big fishnet for sports programs to get the best talent and make money off them. The big tunas get the glory and the majority of the kids get reality and move on like normal kids (hopefully)
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
Good luck to your nephew.
I think most people are aware now of what goes on, so they don’t get duped or suckered into a negative situation.
Oddly enough
FSU only has soccer as a club sport. He’s playing center forward for them. He’s not really taken up by the hype thing. I do think they have major hotties at FSU though. Need to get down there to catch a few games (I didn’t intend to grow up to be a dirty old man, you know. Just kinda happened.)

With the darkest sunglasses....
and my head facing 30 degrees the opposite way I am looking!!!! HAHAHA! I am with you guys. We all grow up to be dirty old men…….except LJP…..he is just a dirty ass stalker!

I am a vet now….this is #3 for me! I have the offensive backfield covered for 2025 now!
Yep, it's only getting worse. Everyone turns a blind eye to it....
because of all the money. Same thing that baseball did during the steroid era. See no evil……………….
Gary Williams, Univ. Md basketball coach
He has seemed reluctant to deal with the AAU guys that play this kind of game. Consequently many of the better high school talents end up elsewhere.
