Best/Worst Free Agent Pool
I think many think that this year will be the worst offseason in history (or maybe not to that extent) as far as the free agents available. Leave to me to think otherwise, right? Right.
The reason most people believe the free agents will be so weak this year is because there won't be many big name free agents out there (if I'm not mistaken). But the way I see it, the players on each team that have little value or recognition could be the ones to hit the market. The smart organizations will have already thoroughly evaluated there young talent and realize their potential consequently letting some veterans go. But most organizations are going to keep their big name players on board consequently letting some of the younger players go. This is great for the younger guys who have been looked over or buried under depth charts behind a stud veteran. Some of these guys may just be nfl backups their whole career but there's alot of diamonds in the rough out there also. I think this may be the best free agent pool in years because so much is un-known. In my opinion, the organizations with the best scouts and an eye for talent will flourish this offseason. As for the redskins sake, I hope we use this as a benefit a get some younger guys with potential and are out to prove something instead of givinig out huge money to the few veterans that'll hit the free agent market. Tell me what you guys think.

I think the Skins will be very active in free agency this year.
Probably : 2 offensive linemen, a free safety, and at least 1 linebacker.
Possibly : 1 wide receiver, a running back, a back-up QB, and a kicker.
We will know what type of defense they will try by specific signings.
Do they go NT? Do they sign a 3-4 LB?
We should also know what their plans are for JC and the #4 pick.
Do they let JC test the market? Do they sign an aging vet as a back-up?
Theres definitely going to be more changes
I do agree with your post but to say that this will be the best free agency due to the amount of unknown is kind of weird. But don’t get me wrong I do agree. If they evaluate well we could have a very strong very young team. It is definitely going to be interesting.
If they go 3-4
they should pick up Seymour from Oakland (I think he only signed a 1yr deal) at NT. Then, if the miracle I plan occurs, we pick up Berry and Brandon Graham in the draft. Voila, our D is fixed for the most part for years to come.
Then we:
Sign Jason for 3 years
Bring in Sexxy Rexxy as backup
Go for nothing but Oline in the remainder of the draft unless CP is not the guy – then we will need to pick up a Running Back.
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
YES!!!............on 2nd thought.
Don’t see Seymour or Graham here at all.
We will find out about JC within the next 3 weeks.
This is
so far the best offseason plan I’ve heard if the team switches to the 3-4. Maybe I’ll play Miracle when the draft is playing just for the extra luck?

I would then
draft Jake Locker next year as the QB of the future. I think we could go another year or two with the Campbell/Grossman pair while Locker comes up to speed.
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
Locker, Locker, Locker......
Everyone talks about Bradford, Clausen, Pike….Locker projects higher than all. His freshman season….he has shown his playmaking ability with his feet….now he is in a more pro offense and is showing what his arm can do. I would love to see this kid a Skin!
Campbell will get us a 2nd or a 3rd in free agency,Draft future QB,REBUILD THE O-LINE
teams do want Campbell, lets see what we can get for him in free agency.
What?
lets see what we can get for him in free agency
That doesn’t even make sense.

The Skins should rebound in the 2010 season.
I would anticipate about a 12-15 pick in the first round, if they manage to get an offensive line partially rebuilt. The starters will be much better, but the OL depth still won’t be that great. When some new running backs and the same quarterback the Team should be at least on a par with the 2008 Team on offense. A more aggressive defensive scheme will also help on both sides of the ball, i.e., more turnovers.
The 2011 season might even be one for a trade down in the first round.

Yes
Don’t forget our strength of schedule next season is about 3 times stronger than last season. We are going to lose a number of games just out of the fact that everyone is adjusting to new schemes and team mates. Although Gano will make up for a couple of egregious losses last year.
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
next year!!??
Whose worried about next year right now….nobody. you don’t say “we’ll get our franchise qb next year”. No! if you have a chance to get that guy of the future at the most important position on the field then you take him asap. But if you read my discussion from the beginning, i think our talent evaluators should do alot of investigations on some of the young players that’s already in league that may hit the free agent market. As its probably already clear that I think there;s some talented unknown young players that’s hitting the free agent market. For example….the defensive end behind Jared allen may be a future star.
Agreed. If they think Bradford or Claussen is the guy,
then they have to pull the trigger now. Hopefully the team doesn’t get a top 10 pick for a long, long time.
This was my thought too.
I kept saying that if we don’t get our QB this year, we may not be picking in a spot where we can get an elite QB next year. We can always grab a solid Olinemen about anywhere in the first rd almost any year.
My belief is that we don’t need an elite linemen to make us great, but all the great team seem to have an elite QB.
49ers of the 80’s – Montana/Young
Cowboys of the 90’s – Aikman
Packers of the late 90’s-00’s – Farve
Rams – Warner
Pats – Brady
Colts – Manning
Yea, no way to count on getting THE QB next year.
Everyone wants a franchise QB. Chances are great that the team with the 1st pick next year will need a QB. They won’t trade that pick away for anything.
if only
there were a franchise QB in the draft but there’s not…just some journeyman who are better than the others.
Franchise QB can be defined in many ways.
I would say JC is not a franchise QB. It can be argued either way by many. My question is would you be OK with not having a franchise QB for the next 4-5 years, or do you believe we NEED a franchise QB to win?
Just a question. Not an arguement to your opinion.
Tebow or McCoy will be there in 2nd round
trade Campbell
I can't believe
you are still spouting that Tebow nonsense. Haha, what a loser..
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
Im now completly off the Tebow train,
unless he is there in the 4th or later. I am however starting to get the LeFevor.
At the combine, watch for LeFevour to....
throw 20-25 yd outs with zip, and those 10-15 yd hooks and ins where the receiver has the ball in his hands on the turn. The rap on Feav is arm strength, and getting the ball from A to B on the receivers break before the defender can react. He could elevate with a good showing into the 2nd. If the receiver has to wait for the ball or take more than 2-3 steps, Feav stays at 4-5.
