Who is going to be our "Franchise Quarterback" ??

      The QB for next year is anyone's guess, possibly Grossman, doubtfully McNabb. Who is going to be our long term future QB tho, who are we going to pick up to build a team around ?? I have always thought that you should draft the lines first ( both defensive & offensive ), start in the trenches & build a team up  from there. I have always felt that it makes more sense to be able to protect the QB before you get "THE QB", the guy that you hope is capable of taking you to the SB. However, after watching Cam Newton this year, I really believe that he will be an elite QB in the NFL & that if we get the chance we should go ahead & roll the dice on him.I think that he is a special talent & even tho he has baggage he is an opportunity at the most important position on the field that we should not pass up. He has all the tools that an elite QB needs, he is big,strong armed, athletic & extremely mobile. His intangibles are also impressive, he is a winner & a leader. His off the field issues are what bother a lot of people here, his character after multiple incidents at UF & whether or not he was paid to play football for Auburn & I readily admit that those are very VALID concerns. For myself, I am more concerned with the incidents at UF, owning a laptop that he knew was stolen & cheating on term papers than with whether he knew that his father was trying to get money from Auburn to fix his church but both incidents show poor judgment & a disturbing lack of character. I like the kid anyway & looking back 30 years to when I was his age I did an awful lot of stupid things myself. 

     The question I have for everyone here is who would you like to see as our franchise QB. Is it someone that you like in the upcoming draft like Mallet, Newton, Ponder, Stanzi or any of the other QBs coming out this year ??( the chance that Andrew Luck s available for us is zero ).Should we wait a year, fix the O-line & then pick a QB in 2012??Is there someone in FA that you think we should pursue or is the QB of the future already on our roster ??

     Please explain who you would like to see in Burgundy & Gold in a couple of years as our Quarterback
