As a lifelong Redskins fan and likely longer hater of those who dare to promote themselves "America's Team", I began watching Sunday's Giants-'boyz game with a sort of depravity...almost like I was watching a bad accident scene, hoping to see our NFC East rivals bludgeon each other to a pulp. Somehow, along the way I started actually hoping my most hated team would knock off the division leaders. I don't know when or how it started, but I actually started to root them on. I don't know if it was jetlag or what, but I lost my sense of right and wrong...
Maybe it was the 1-7 start, or the unwarranted firing of the inspirational Wade Phillips (note: tongue firmly planted in cheek), but I admit that I broke my own cardinal rule: Yes, I rooted for the Cowboys.
Now, like a college girl doing the long walk of shame back to her dormroom the morning after, I lay myself before the Nation to see if, just maybe, a few other Burgundy Bleeders found themselves rooting on the hated Silver and Blue.
I know it's a difficult thing to admit, but since this is anonymous and I feel the need for validation, please let me know the truth: Did you hope the 'Girls would beat the Giants?
