I hate to say I told you so...

Some of you know that I've been adamant about our secondary and their level of play. I've been very critical because in order for our defense to work, we have to have a secondary that can create TO's. Tiller and I have gone through recent discussions about who was our best CB. If anyone doubts that that's Dante Hall after yesterday, you're certifiable and St. Elizabeth's will gladly take you. I hear those straight jacket's can be a little uncomfortable though. Let your mind adjust where your body can't.

I heard that...

  • "Rogers doesn't get burned" - From what I saw, Earl Bennett had him beat BADLY and almost scored a TD. Let's face it, every CB gets burned from time to time. But when you're "there" to make a play, you MUST. They don't come around every down.
  • "Rogers is a better tackler" - I'll give you the benefit and say Rogers can tackle. But the open field tackles that Hall was making on Devin Hester were exceptional.
  • "Hall gambles too much" - And when he's right, look what happens. You have to smell the ball, and Hall had BEAR-like senses yesterday.
  • "I'd take Rogers over Hall any day" - Wow...Really??? Like I said before, defense is more than just "being there". You've heard the cliche "The best offense, is a good defense", and that's exactly what we need. Our offense looked terrible at times, and average at best. We need play makers on defense that can neutralize that, not just make the tackle. "Making the tackle" usually means you gave up yards. "Making a play" turns the game.

Overall, our defense came together. I'm thankful for Haynesworth's play. Rocky McIntosh made a few big plays. And Fletcher, well...was just being London Fletcher. Props to the rest of the defense that made it possible for Hall to have a record tying day. And props for him making the play(s) when the opportunity arrived.

I'm happy to be gloating, after a win. Damn, it feels good to be right.

Rekka,

how long have we needed a play maker in our secondary? The last consistent one I can remember was Sean Taylor. Before that, Darrell Green.

I’m just glad to see SOMEONE be a ball hawk!

Dante Hall is sooooo awesome at cornerback

I love how he’s so good that he doesn’t even have to play cornerback or even be on our team

You can add me to the passenger list on the crazy train

I don’t think all gets thrown out that much, without Carlos Rogers being a very good cover corner. Even somebody as dumb as Cutler doesn’t throw halls direction, after say, that third interception unless there is no one open on the other side.
The two complement each other, and I think that’s a good situation to be in.

The world looks mighty different when you're peeking out your belly button

Is this the highlight of your week? finally THINKING that you've been proven right....

I doubt very few people said theyd actually rather have Carlos than DHall… Those people were going overboard. However, you just choose to hate on Carlos for fun. Whats the point? The fact is he can more or less stick with every receiver in the league. Sometimes EVERYONE gets beat. DHall I dont think has as good cover skills but hes a much better playmaker. Let’s face it though, at least two of those picks were gift wrapped by Cutler. Lets be sure to thank him as well.. At the end of the day we end up with the perfect COMBO of DB’s. Id rather have one cover corner and one ball hawk than 2 ball hawk’s being burnt all day… Then we have Landry… If we only had Sean Taylor still we’d VERY ARGUABLY have the best 4 DB’s in football!!!!

by RememberSean21 on Oct 25, 2010 12:25 PM EDT reply actions

Again, who's hating on Carlos for fun???

I’ve watched him since the Auburn days. I just expected more from him, and he’s not living up to it. No, this isn’t the highlight of my week, but I DID prove my point and you witnessed it. Playing the position and knowing football, you’d understand. But I’ve already explained it to YOU enough.

And don’t mention “gift wrapped” when talking about Carlos Rogers. NO ONE has more picks gift wrapped than that dude.

by J.Cash on Oct 25, 2010 12:40 PM EDT up reply actions

but I DID prove my point and you witnessed it.

You didn’t prove anything, DHall had a great game, we all recognize that. He is more of a playmaker than Rogers and everyone has agreed, Rogers is a better COVER corner.

Ryan Fitzpatrick had a better day then Drew Brees yesterday, does that mean he is a better QB?

by Parks Smith on Oct 25, 2010 12:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Who gives a shit... Let it go man.

Some of us think Rogers is the better corner, some think DHall is. There isn’t any empirical evidence that you can prance up here and change peoples minds. Its stupid to even bring it up again. All the Bears had to do was one double move on DHall and he would of been toast.

We won the game as the Redskins not the DeAngelo Hall’s.

I am happy I actually know the name of our players though.

by Parks Smith on Oct 25, 2010 12:26 PM EDT reply actions

by J.Cash on Oct 25, 2010 12:36 PM EDT up reply actions

your an idiot

If Carlos Rogers has a good game next week I could come on here with a stupid rant about how Rogers is better. But I’m not a big enough moron to do it, like you…

Really that’s Troy Aikman’s point. I think any football fan with any reasonable knowledge would agree a hitch and go would of been the thing to do yesterday against DHall, he was biting on routes hard, it has nothing to do with Troy Aikman, but nice try assbag, keep fighting a fight that you can’t win.

You know what, fuck you with the name calling!

I’ve told you that before with your wanna-be internet muscles. Discuss your point like a man and then shut the f*ck up.

You’re not a “football fan”. You obviously listen to the bullsh*t you hear from the commentators, cut then paste. The sad part about it, is you keep saying “what others should have done”, but the guy had FOUR INT’s. That’s not good enough for you, though.

I’m not fucking LJP. Respect me as a man, FIRST, before anything. OR, we can gladly meet up and have this discussion in person.

I’m not fucking LJP. Respect me as a man, FIRST, before anything. OR, we can gladly meet up and have this discussion in person.

1) I was in the bar for the game and couldn’t hear the commentary, so nice try there DB (doesn’t stand for defensive back)

2) Can you not read…

but the guy had FOUR INT’s. That’s not good enough for you, though.

DHall had a great game, we all recognize that.

No one has a personal vendetta or hatred for DHall, the original conversation/debate was who was the better complete corner. A lot said Rogers, a lot said DHall, but you’ve taken personal offense to the issue and have been gayer about DHall then a fanny pack full of dildos. We all know he had a great game and are extremely grateful for his performance. But you can use the sample size of 1 game to claim he’s the better corner. Its a debate, there is no way you can prove one is better than the other right now.

I’d gladly meet up with you, will you be wearing a Dante Hall jersey? Will a porto-potty in green lot be legit meeting point so you can take your tampon out before our discussion?

by J.Cash on Oct 25, 2010 2:42 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm not trumped...

and what would that have to do with education?

Please explain to me how I’m trumped. Your whole point right now is “derrrr DeAngelo Hall is better than Carlos Rogers because he catches the ball derrrr, see the game from yesterday derrrr”

You insulted my intelligence by saying I just repeat what Troy Aikman says, which then resulted in me thinking and verbalizing that I thought you were an assbag, thats not name calling, it’s my opinion.

Like I said I couldn’t hear the game but any logical human being could of seen a hitch-and-go would of worked on DHall, thank god Mike Martz didn’t dial one up.

Wait, why are we talking about this here, weren’t we supposed to meet somewhere to discuss this? That’s not juvenile at all, neither is calling out someone’s grammar. I forgot this board was for english scholar only.

I’ve been in here for a long time and I see how it goes. A couple of Beevis and Butthead impersonations to hide your insecurities. It’s quite pathetic.

Nowhere in the post did I mention RVA’s name. But he was the FIRST one to jump out there, which means he “felt some kinda way” about it. Then, he wants to call names. I have refused to take part in all of this picking one over the other

They’re both good, yet flawed players. I personally think that Rogers is closer to being a Pro Bowler simply because all he needs is a set of hands. Each of them needs the other, though. Without Rogers’s coverage ability (think of Buchanan as our only other starter), teams would light it up against whoever started opposite Hall. QBs wouldn’t be forced to throw Hall’s way. QBs throw to Hall because he gives his receivers a little more separation than Rogers, so they take that risk. They wouldn’t have to if there was separation AND an inability to cover on the other side of the field. Rogers can’t live without Hall, either though. If he was the only starting-caliber CB on the roster, he’d get ignored (like Hall would without Rogers) and never be a significant presence in the game. We need a threat on both sides of the field so that a QB either has to attack Rogers’ side where there’s almost no window in which to throw the ball, or Hall’s side where there’s a window that can be easily exploited by the CB.

True

It probably won’t ever happen. But he would be unbelievable with a set of hands.
Anyway, I think both of them are near-Pro Bowl level CBs. Hall could make it to the Pro Bowl this year if he continues to get turnovers. But he’s not ever going to have another day like yesterday, so getting to the Pro Bowl is still a little bit out of his reach I think. But I’m hoping that Rogers learns to catch and that Hall stays opportunistic for the rest of the year. Even if neither makes the Pro Bowl, we’ll at least be solidifying the foundation of a legit secondary. I think next year is the breakout year for our secondary. They’ll keep creating turnovers and start limiting yards as well. Our DBs could become a shut-down unit soon.

They both did well

Honestly, the two compliment each other like peanut butter and jelly. If you combined their DNA somehow you’d create probably the best cornerback ever to play the game—or at least create a freak that plays defense reasonably well.

Question: Woody, what happened to the ball movement? Answer: I think our defense was pretty solid tonight. We held them to under 200 points so we did our job on that end.

D'Angelo is a super ball hawk and a fine corner

but he is smaller and slower than Rogers, and is not as good at tackling or coverage. One great game doesn’t change that (in fact, some say he’s been fairly mediocre in recent games).

John Keim predicted a 17-14 Redskin win

and at least one interception. Not bad! How did he know?

Wassup BayArea.

What would it take to convince you otherwise?

by J.Cash on Oct 25, 2010 4:06 PM EDT up reply actions

?

To convince me that he’s not wildly inconsistent and often a detriment to success? Probably playing well consistently for the majority if not all of a season.

by BayAreaBullet on Oct 25, 2010 4:18 PM EDT up reply actions

So if he leads the league in INT's at the end of the year, along with the most Pick-6's...

Will you say he’s the best CB we have? I mean, it’s not like he hasn’t improved over the years either. Call him “occasiona”, but damn if those occasions aren’t becoming more frequent.

how do you defend hall’s play last week vs the colts?

J.Cash

I have to be honest. There is about a ZERO percent chance I show up at the Cracker Barrel to meet you and your mom. I’m sorry you were so greatly offended, but do you really need to have an “I told you so” post calling out the whole community, especially after one game. If DHall does lead the NFL in defensive points and INTs then he’ll be going to Hawaii and I think we’ll all agree he is the best corner, but until then its up for debate.

I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, but when you stated I just regurgitate Troy Aikman’s vomit, it made me pretty angry. I’m dumbfounded as to why you can’t just discuss the issue. I think my original post was pretty valid.

I think if you want to grow a sack and join the HH gentleman’s club you need to:

  • Try to debate the issue with facts and larger sample sizes.
  • I’m an asshole, I know it, HH knows it. And probably the best way not to get shit from me is ignore me.
  • If you are going to talk shit then try to be a little more creative then calling someone a little kid and referring to a curfew. I’m a 25 year old male, with a BA, MBA, and a pretty good salary. So please treat me as such.
  • Grammar? Really? Feel free to scrutinize everyone’s grammar on this site you’ll be here all day.

The end of this story, goes like this… We are all Redskins fans, there is no sense in arguing stupid things like this back and forth. Spew the hate at other fans. But at the same time, DHall could have a bad game this week and Rogers could have a good one. Now, would I jump on here Monday and start an “I told you so post” about how Rogers is better? NOOOOO

So lets just hug it out, bitch. (Internet Style)

In odd turn of events, here is a response to your FOOTBALL point about a double move:

Does Devin Hester have those as a route running “wide receiver” ?

 * I will always put quotations around the wr when talking about him and make fun of anybody I see draft him in a fantasy league.

by mdm1185 on Oct 25, 2010 10:53 PM EDT up reply actions

Twenty five? That's a joke like this reply.

I was so looking forward to meeting you at Cracker Barrel. I’m a man of my word. And, since it’s obvious that you like to flex your “internet muscles”, I’ll do my best to ignore your bitch ass as much as possible. Maybe someday we CAN meet, and I can find out who’s mouth is better; yours or your mom’s. But until then, we can keep it cordial on here since we root for the same team. You are an asshole. There’s no point in ANYTHING you want to “discuss” with me. You’re not capable. All that will happen, is you’ll result to insults. They have forums for that shit elsewhere. Find it. And I can talk shit about D. Hall after he tied a record. That’s common sense.

But you can’t “own” me when I called you out and you bitched up. Unless that’s how they do it in your neck of the woods. I know. It’s real easy to hide behind a keyboard and a monitor and be someone you’re not. Maybe when you grow some balls you’ll understand that.

But it’s cool. Stay in your comfort zone, and be the bitch that you are.

by J.Cash on Oct 25, 2010 5:32 PM EDT reply actions

Sounds good, keep me posted on Dante Hall's progress as a DB.

You didn’t call anyone out, dude. Can you not read? I said DHALL HAD A GREAT GAME, THAT I’M VERY GRATEFUL FOR. BUT YOU CAN’T SAY HE’S A BETTER CORNER BASED ON SUCH A SMALL SAMPLE SIZE. I don’t know how to get that through your cro-magnum dome.

Please let me know the next Skins game you come to, I’d be more than happy to beat you up in front of your mom then. Afterwards, I’ll buy you a Carlos Rogers jersey as an olive branch.

And if you were a man of your word, shouldn’t you not be talking to me? You said you were done about 6 six hours ago.

He doesnt take into deep consideration any of his oppositions valid counter-arguements. If you make any factual point he will just ignore it and just continue repeating the exact same thing.

Im sorry.

I wasnt aware of the lock on the signup button. I didnt know that this site was only for the select few and not Home of the Washington Redskins fans. I must of been ignorant of the fact that if you dont regularly post on a forum, your not a true Skins fan. I also didnt know you were a Moderator who was incharge of banning me from this site. Silly me.

Im pretty sure my comment holds plenty of weight considering I was one of the main people debating with J.Cash on the post of which he is reffering to when he decided to title this one “I hate to say you told you so.”

by RememberST21 on Oct 26, 2010 7:02 AM EDT up reply actions   1 recs

RememberST21 don't sweat skinaholic

He’s “special”. I’m honestly not sure why he’s offended here, he wrote a whole fanpost that was starting to make sense and then turned into a personal attack. He can, however, throw a football 35 yards and hit an 8 year old in stride and solve all of our interception woes with pushups..

by DoWork on Oct 26, 2010 9:40 AM EDT up reply actions   1 recs

Who are you, again???

Please enlighten me. Awwww…I’m sowry wittle guy. Did I offend you for titling this post “I hate to say I told you so..”? Bad J. Cash! Bad!

There. Feel better now? Let me explain something to you and your little friends: I don’t care who doesn’t agree with me. Anyone who’s been on this site longer than a month would know that. But the more you speak on it, the more you prove me right. If I wanted to call your name in a post, trust me, I have no problem doing so.

Please. You and Mr. BA put your brains together and develope a sub-site. Call it “Little Piggies” and leave grown man conversations alone. You can “troll” all you want there….make little insults….flex your “internet muscles”…and not get upset when someone says “I told you so”. Boom. Problem solved.

by J.Cash on Oct 26, 2010 11:18 AM EDT up reply actions

Cash

you’re quickly dissolving your credibility. If you look back through this post it’s funny to read, but you’re getting legitimately upset over some seemingly trivial things. RVA got under your skin and has you trying to meet people in public and repeating yourself about how everyone but you are little kids and they have ‘internet muscles’. Come on man, grow up, get a grip..

by DoWork on Oct 26, 2010 11:31 AM EDT up reply actions   1 recs

DoWork,

I’m not worried about my “credibility”. Nor am I “upset”. I just call a bluff. That’s it. RVA didn’t get under my skin, but apparently, I got under his. He’s an admitted asshole. Happy to be one. And like every asshole, he’s got a lot of shit with him. Why should I be mad about that???

Let’s just all agree to move on. No more replies from anyone trying to stir the pot. The show’s over. The kids are in bed. Turn the page.

by J.Cash on Oct 26, 2010 11:49 AM EDT up reply actions

Honestly the only reason I responded was b/c you said...
Let’s just all agree to move on. No more replies from anyone trying to stir the pot.

Just to see what you would do, and as I predicted a childish response, just like this post. I really thought you were a man of your word.

Anyways, moving on now, time for some football talk and the Lions this week. Maybe we can have a Bye Week Beatdown next week, since there won’t be much to talk about.

I know, dumbass.

That’s exactly why I did it. Please, stop “attempting” to be smart. You’ll hurt yourself. People have said the same thing about you, and it’s funny. You call yourself being an antagonist, and really think I’m getting upset. Pfft! This shit is a walk in the park to me.

by Parks Smith on Oct 26, 2010 12:18 PM EDT up reply actions

That means you think that you're bating me...

and you’re too stupid to realize that you were bated the whole time. I said I was a man of my word about meeting you. I have every intention on doing that. You and your friends thought that you got under my skin. Really??? That’s comical. Instead of meeting up with me, you’d rather go back and forth on here. That’s cool. I have a little time to kill with you. But when this dance stops, you’ll still be a bitch ass clown in Richmond that no one but your little “troll” friends take seriously.

Wow...

J. Cash, these “I told you so” posts are so fucking stupid, childish and uncalled for. Do you really think we care that you made an argument and you were right? Are you really that desperate that you need to make a fanpost about it? This whole post was arrogant and asinine. RVA was right the whole time. You can insult me all you want but I’m not going to respond to your childish retorts.

Oh, and his name? It’s DeAngelo Hall.

I'm back. YAY SUMMER!

by DCO'sfan on Oct 25, 2010 6:10 PM EDT reply actions   1 recs

What the hell are you talking about?

I wasn’t even talking to you. So all the “do you think we care” is out of left field, DC Orioles Fan.

Give me a break. Are you gonna be there to co-sign on everything he says? Let me know now, please. I have no time for children that aren’t my own. I never STATED him in the post, but he jumps in on some tough guy shit. Then, when I call him out on it, I’m “arrogant”. Look up the word and by definition, that would be HIM.

No one was even speaking to you in the first place. If you guys really want to sit down and talk about this, we can. But I doubt that you’re willing to do that because it’s much more comfortable hiding behind a keyboard.

by J.Cash on Oct 25, 2010 7:01 PM EDT up reply actions

I wasn't calling you arrogant because of your argument with him

I was calling you arrogant because you went of your fucking way to write an I told you so post. That’s just pathetic. This was unneeded and dumb. Nobody wants to hear it.

Because it's offensive, right?

Where was all of this when Jason Campbell would blow a game? I guess I shouldn’t write about Haynesworth either, right? Oh, let me know now what I can and can’t write. Last I checked, this was short and to the point. And if you don’t like it, you DID NOT have to open it. The title should have clued you in already. Can we agree on that? (Don’t worry. I won’t think nothing of it when you respond negatively)

C’mon man. Don’t be hypocritical. ESPECIALLY when RVAParks ADMITTED he’s an ASSHOLE, therefore, he’s liable to say ASSHOLE things. But, “he’s right” though, huh? You guys gotta be kindin me….

by J.Cash on Oct 25, 2010 7:13 PM EDT up reply actions

I was just countering your ridiculous comment

I didn’t have to open it, but all these posts are fucking stupid and they ruin good wins. You shouldn’t need validation from random internet strangers. It’s pathetic. Anyway, let’s just agree to disagree and be on our way. Fair?

I'm back. YAY SUMMER!

Yes, it is funny, Skinaholic.

Some post on here HAD valid comebacks to this. Some said they STILL like Rogers better. What do I say about that? You’re entitled, though I disagree. But these “kids” come on here and get Superman Keyboard muscles and all of a sudden, “I’m” the one with the problem.

Hysterical.

by J.Cash on Oct 25, 2010 7:16 PM EDT up reply actions

We really need to get you kids out of Hogs Haven

You ruin the site. I’ve talked about football for a while on here. I’ve dealt with stubborn people. I’ve even admitted when I was wrong. But I NEVER resorted to calling anyone out of their name, which makes things escalate. You throw bricks and then hide your hands and you’re EMBARRASSING as a Redskin “fan”. Don’t like it? I really don’t care. It’s true. I never said I didn’t like Carlos Rogers. I said Hall was better. He just so happens to have a record game soon AFTER that, and dammit, I can bring it up. The same way I can bring up his poor play against Indy. Don’t like that? CREATE YOUR OWN SITE! Call it “Little Piggies” or something and have all the “Ask a Troll” type bulshit on there that you want.
