I know some of you Joe Bugel fanatics are red hot right now after reading this title. So what! I am tired of certain people defending this guy. I admit he was a good O-line coach. He helped us win two super bowls. But besides the X's and O's what kind of coach was he ? Was he the kind of coach that stood on his priciples? Did he tell Dan Snyder that we had some serious needs that needed to be addressed on our O-line? Did Dan just blow him off and not listen? Was Joe so arrogant that he thought he could make "chicken sald out of chicken shick." In my opinion he probably just went along with what was suggested. He probably did not want to rock the boat. Could he have been afraid he would lose his job if he was forceful in voicing his opinion? (maybe) But if that were the case why did he not just stand on his principles and move on. He was a legendary O-line coach. He should have been able to find a job.
So in LJP's humble opinon he might have been good with the X's and O's. But that is not the only requirements for being a good coach. So, before we give Joe Bugel a free pass. Believe it or not he does have alot to do with our O-line being in the condition that it is in now.
