For once I agree with an LJP post
Landry is definately a liabilty on our defense. The guy consistently makes the same mistakes over and over again. Double moves and play action passes kills this guy. Without Landry, we would have been the #1 pass defense. I would be more patient with him if he was good in run support but he misses too many tackles trying to make the big hit which i really don't think he's built for because he usually ends up knocking his self out when he does make the tackle. Alot of you guys are saying try him at SS but you have to be able to tackle to play SS, the position is pretty much like another LB. Also I like Horton at SS, he's a better tackler and he's never caught out of postion, it'll be ridiculous to play him at FS. I believe we can afford to trade Landry and possibly land another 1st rounder. He's still young and very talented, he'll probably turn out to be a beast where ever he goes but we can afford it.
As far as what to do with the FS position (if we don't draft Berry) there's a couple nice FA's out there like Bethea which the colts probably won't let go but how about Usama Young from the saints. He's a local (i played high school football with him) and a big sleeper that could turn out to be a star. Even Darren Sharper said watch out for this guy and he practices every day against the saints offense, in which he steadily picks off Brees. Just a under the radar suggestion. O another guy I think would be a nice fit with us is OLB Thomas Howard from Oakland....solid tackler, not bad in run support, and excels against the pass.
