Matt McGuire thinks Jimmy Clausen is the most NFL-ready underclassman ever.
I've never advocated using our fourth overall pick on a QB, and I'm not trying to with this fanshot, but Matt McGuire here writes a very convincing article on the preparedness of Jimmy Clausen coming to the NFL. Looking at his accomplishments and the company he's being compared to, all with a pro-style offense, gets me very impressed. I'm not sure he's my first choice for our upcoming draft, but if the Shanahans and Allen think he is, I'll support them.

My only problem with this evaluation
is that it only takes in the physical skills. No one doubts his football skills, but his leadership and off-field arrogance is a huge red flag for me. My cousin goes to ND and is roomies with a CB on the team. Everyone on campus and the team hates the kid.
I’m working on getting more concrete stuff to post to HH.
"It was one of those things where everyone in the building was suddenly excited again," Cerrato said. "And all the women in the building were the most excited. They couldn't believe we were getting the guy from "Dancing With the Stars."
Same.
Few people question Clausen’s football pedigree, but is he the next Ryan Leaf?
Holmgren would have drafted Crabtree.

I agree, all the talent, but.............
Cocky, opinionated, thin skinned California kid who could cause locker room division.
Then again, Shanahan drafted Cutler, and Clausen is a Cutler clone.
I have read that the Redskins have been scouting him heavily for awhile now, and he would fit into Shan’s offensive scheme.
He would be a safer pick than Bradford, but whew, he is going to be hard to root for.
Then again, we did have Theisman, and he has some Theisman in him.
Article on Alpha Male Quaterbacks.
Written by the same guy a few weeks ago and again, very well written. He doesn’t reference Clausen in this one, but he takes a few shots at Romo, which I like to see. He also takes a minor shot at Colt, though.
Claussen=Vinny pick
I think Vinny would have drafted Claussen with the first pick, and probably traded up to get him! Stay far away from this guy.
