C.J. Spiller is one of college football's dynamic stars. 2009 was his breakout year rushing for over 1200 and it has done wonders in raising his draft status. Spiller makes fools of defenders who try to tackle him. Jahvid Best on the other hand, is a speedy running back who can still make yards after contact. He had his breakout year in 2008 rushing for 1500 yards. He was on pace this year to put up the same numbers until a concussion ended his season early. Still, he is an extremely elusive back with a lot of potential . With the rise of Jamaal Charles and Chris Johnson it make me curious to see which running back redskins fans would rather have.
I would like to see the redskins trade back in the draft and select a tackle and either C.J. Spiller or Jahvid Best. Though, if I had to choose I would want Jahvid Best. I would want Best because I think it would be easier to address our offensive line needs and acquire him than it would if we were to acquire spiller. Though, I will concede that Spiller looks like the more polished overall player. If Shanahan chooses to get either of these two running backs the upcoming draft, I would support that decision.
Note: Spiller is likely to be a top ten pick, while Best is projected to be a top 25 pick.
