OK, I'm gonna make this short, because I know A) it's not likely and B) the direction the conversation will probably go. I apologize in advance for B.

 

Anyway, I have seen a few reports saying that Jeff Garcia may be cut. Couple that with the fact that New England is supposedly interested in Todd Collins, and there's a chance we could make a quick and easy upgrade at BACKUP quarterback, and gain a mid to late round draft pick along the way. I know, very remote chance. 

I also know some people on here are in the tank for Collins, which is perfectly understandable. But I feel like Garcia is the perfect west coast QB, not to mention much better than Collins anyway. Could this move flummox Campbell? Sure. And I really don't care. Don't get me wrong, I want JC to succeed, and still believe he has the chance. But the truth is, if he can't take the heat, he shouldn't be in the league.

Furthermore, Garcia is very similar in body makeup and playing style to Colt Brennan. Watching Garcia in practice could be a boone to Brennan's career.

So there it is. I hope I don't start another faux QB controversy here and, like I said, I DO realize this is a highly unlikely scenario. But I'm curious to see what you guys think.
