drama in dc
interesting
its gonna be very interesting to see what goes down in dc this week ! straight up poor performance all around ! so whats the problem here ? i say its poor coaching and lack of true effort ! look we cant pass, run, defend ,tackle or coach!! people here can get mad all they want and call me and others bashers but ive been watching the skins long enough to know that we suck!! i knew after the 1st quarter that this game was another one in the loss column, just by the way the players were conducting themselves on the field !! they were somewhere out in the middle of the ocean with no life preservers!! when is this team gonna play up to its potential ? it looks to me like they are getting worse not better !! the main reason i posted this though is for all you cool-aid drinkers and excuse makers to have a place to do what you do best and thats make excuses ! so go ahead and post jc stats and percentages and say that we almost won the game like you all did in week 1 against the giants when we were manhandled !! wait thats rite, we got manhandled again today !! just to let you all know ! stats dont mean shit !!! best thing for us to do is lose out and hope for the # 1 pick in the draft ! also at the end of the season , trade a couple players such as a tight end and a good defensive player in place of a couple picks in the draft in order for us to get the offensive line in tact !! hell ill go ahead and say who i think we should trade !! clinton portis, chris cooley and laron landry ! reasons for this, cp is never 100 % hes been banged up for the last 2 seasons ! while hes a good blocker and good power runner ! i say we get something for him while we still can ! cooley is a good TE but i think fred davis can contribute just as much if not more in years to come! and finally landry , hes a heavy hitter and decent in coverage but seems to have problems wrapping up on a tackle which is far more effective than laying a heavy hit on someone especially if they dont go down ! so i say reed doughty can handle his spot ! as 4 questions on what we are going to do without a starting running back ! draft one there are plenty of good ones out there ! maybe i should not say this but here it goes! work out a deal with dallas! they have three really good running backs im sure they dont need them all ! get to work danny boy because rite now we are up shit creek without a paddle !!

I agree with you on
CP- he doesn’t have that game anymore that he used to bring- he’s been really, really quite. Some people will say “well, you have to set-up the pass to have big runs.” To that I will say “he did it before when there was never really a passing attack.”
His demeanor seems subdued. hmm… I wouldn’t trade away cooley though unless for something big!

The only thing I object to in your post is that you are either new to English or you forgot how your keyboard works.
Honestly, Campbell didn’t look horrible. He was the least of our concerns in this game.
Defense? What’s that? Running game? What’s that? Creative play calling? Riiiight.
The only thing the defense can probably stop is our offense right now, and that’s really saying something. They looked lazy and tired out there. Weighed down by their wallets maybe? They gave up drives of 99 yards, 95 yards and then 97 yards. The offense should have been gunning at that point what with only being on the field for a third of the game but the character of our offense is showing and it’s called: 3 and out. Portis not getting carries or only getting like 2 yards? Jim Zorn’s strategy seems to be if it doesn’t work once, don’t do it again. Using that reasoning, he should probably put down the whistle.
The only positive is that Campbell’s been getting some clutch plays, but he’s no Manning or Brady. He just can’t finish the game. He’s got no balls either. Any other quarterback would have switched plays when an outside run call comes in on the red zone or even a halfback option from the 5. 2 weeks in a row they’ve given up on 4th down in the red zone.
Just. Plain. Embarrasing.

When a coach makes two bad calls...
in the first quarter of the game, it demoralizes the entire team. Especially if those bad calls cost the team 7 points and energize the other team.
Zorn made two basic mistakes. 1) take the field goal on 4th and one. if you don’t make the TD, you give the other team a real lift. 2) don’t take the penalty when you can have 4th down. make them kick the field goal and you give up three points. take the penalty and they make the first down, wel….the rest, as they say, is history.
IMO that’s where this game was lost.

I agree….kinda. 4th and 1 could have been a good call if he’d called a good play. If he’d pounded it or done a play action and we walked the ball in with something good rather than an outside run, the lions wouldn’t be able to recover.

A very wise grandpa!
The NFL, 1st QTR with a nice opening drive you take the 3 points.
Never give NFL players a second chance to do something they failed to do the first time
This is basics in the NFL, it’s not flag football or HS football it’s the NFL. Play like you belong instead of playing like you need to “trick” your way into winning…The Tricks are not working, duh?

Their is no better option than Campbell. Todd Collins is about as mobile as my grandmother who is dead! What did Campbell do wrong anyway? Lets here it.

Yeah, you're right
Let’s hear how great JC was at pass blocking for himself. Let’s hear how great JC was at run blocking. Let’s hear how great JC was at handing himself the ball and rushing for over 100 yards. Let’s hear how great JC was in sacking the opposing QB. Let’s hear how great JC was at getting interceptions in the game. Let’s hear how great JC is at being the head coach or the defensive coordinator of the Redskins. Oh, let’s not forget how great JC is as our owner and GM.
I don’t know why we keep him as our QB because he’s so great at doing everything else. QBs that throw for 341 yards and 2 TDs don’t usually last long in this league. I think washingtonwin and I are in agreement that Campbell needs to be throwing for at least 500 yards and 5 TDs a game if he wants any respect from us.

TEAM LOSS
No doubt about it.
Any good thing done was out weighed by the mistakes by D and the O.
It could have been worse.
BTW anyone notice that Pittsburgh (yes the mighty Steelers) are 1-2 also??
It’s called parity get used to it.
7-9 if they are lucky and I said that before the season.
DC has an average team and will not get better till the owner finally gets a real GM .
This game was lost in the off season…. Free agency and draft and resigning FA for two much money .

What options
are left at this point? There’s only a handful of coaches with HC experience and most of them are semi-retired. None of the OC/DC’s that are doing well are going to bail on their team at this point in the season.
It’s the same situation with JC. You’re delusional if you think Collins is an improvement. The time to make a move there was in the off season.
Personally (as I’ve stated many time) I hope Danny is tired of this and reacts by selling the team.

to rydaddy617 and bigrm18
first of all rydaddy617 you are the BIGGEST IDIOT OF ALL yeah you keep saying how jc stats are soooo great and he passed for 341yards and 2 tds THATS ONLY 1 GAME YOU IDIOT how many TDS has he scored for us in 3 games hmmmmm? rather how many points has he scoredb in all of last year hmmmmm ? his playing ability is piss poor he holds the ball to long ,he over throws the recievers or behind them or over their head , or like the other game he goes over the line then throws the ball and get intercepted i could go on and on but oh well , when you lose to the worst team in the NFL and almost LOSE TO THE RAMS and still CANT SCORE POINTS SOMETHINGS WRONG OPEN YOUR EYES YOU MORON JC SUCKS AND HE NEEDS TO GO , and for you bigrm18 why dont you and rydaddy617 pull your heads from each others ass and open your eyes and see that our team is not getting it done in the scoring department you can throw for over 500yards a game and if you dont score ANY POINTS THE STATS MEAN SHIT GROW A BRAIN YOU 2

HA!
Do you think you’re actually getting under my skin or making me remotely upset? Based on your “grammar” or lack thereof, it seems you’re still in elementary school and your teacher has yet to go over the basics with you, so I’m not going to get into it with someone that has the intelligence of a second grader. I’m all for intellectual discussions, but seeing as that’s not possible with you…
However, there’s one thing you just said that proves my argument correct:
see that our team is not getting it done in the scoring department
See, we all caught you. We all realize that it is the TEAM (Zorn’s playcalling even more so) that isn’t able to score points, not JC. Why you decide to come on here and bash JC every single chance you get I don’t understand.
You know what, I’ve figured it out, washingtonwin must be Colt Brennan. Colt you can’t fool anyone, you’re on IR so you can’t play this year anyway. Come back next year Colt when you’ll actually be able to play and become the preseason king again.
by bigrm18 on Sep 28, 2009 10:27 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
This is what I've been saying
It is Colt Brennan.
The problem with his guys argument is that their is no better option than Campbell. TC or CB would be a disaster. Even Zorn knows this who I think has made JC into a better QB. One thing mostly everyone agree on is that JC has benefited from Zorn.
by skinsymets on Sep 28, 2009 10:35 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I like Campbell
But I’m no homer for him either. If I feel there’s a better QB out there and we could get him, I’d say “Snyder, take out your checkbook.” But I’d say that about almost anyone on the team.
However, there is absolutely no one out there that is a better option, so why even waste your fingers by typing that Campbell sucks? Especially when he isn’t the main problem.
by bigrm18 on Sep 28, 2009 10:49 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
all said and done
rather you 2 like it or not jc will be gone at the end of the season because everyone else knows he just a back up qb at BEST then we will see who is talking then wont we
by washingtonwin on Sep 28, 2009 12:18 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
If you look at my comment above
I said I like Campbell, but I’m no Campbell homer either. So if we can find a QB who is clearly better than Campbell I’d say sign him, so I’ll still be talking then. But the fact remains that there is no better option as of right now, and Campbell isn’t the main problem anyway—Zorn is.
by bigrm18 on Sep 28, 2009 1:07 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
The big problem
is Snyder & VC. They’ve totally messed up the salary cap and ignored building through the draft. And while they were at it they let the OL, which has been a strength of Redskins teams for 20 years, become poor.
I’m not saying Zorn isn’t also a problem but who hired him?
by ZakInOmaha on Sep 28, 2009 1:22 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah but
We all know that Snyder isn’t going anywhere. It’s possible that Snyder realizes that Cerrato is one of the problems, but I don’t think that happens anytime soon.
So might as well try and fix what’s possible to fix which is Zorn and his departure.
by bigrm18 on Sep 28, 2009 2:03 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
it would help
but only in the short term. I’ll agree that even some better play calling would help in the last 2 games but we all know that no team wins the NFC East without a good OL.
by ZakInOmaha on Sep 28, 2009 2:19 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I know the OL
Isn’t good, but I think they’ve done just enough for us to be 2-1 at least if the playcalling was up to par.
