The Redskins have re-signed running back Anthony Alridge to the team’s roster, signing him off the Houston Texans’ practice squad, the team announced on Tuesday.
Alridge takes the roster spot of Randy Thomas, who has been placed on the injured reserve list with a torn triceps.
With the addition of Alridge, the Redskins are carrying five running backs on the roster. The team has nine offensive linemen, plus one on the practice squad.

I love it!
Although they continue to ignore the offensive line. haha. By week 13 Tryon will be our center.
I doubt it
but supposedly MY MAN MASON is safe, so you buzzards just BACK OFF!!
I heard on 106.7 a little while ago that they told Mason he was staying. However, it could be Rock Cartwright on his way out. Apparently he had some disparaging words about the organization before the 1st game. He can ask Brian Mitchell and Lavar how well that kinda stuff goes over. And actually, the writing may have been on the wall with that last kickoff Sunday when they had Thomas returning.

Ok but...
Rock Cartwright is a team capitain voted on by the team, that would be an interesting release but I doubt it this year. If anything it may show the writing on the wall for Betts, he was going to provided a larger role as 3rd down back and it appears to not be working. I’m not sure what his cap hit would be but Betts makes more sense than one of the team leaders in Cartwright.
I agree on Betts
but I believe they said his cap hit would be $5mil, and I think he does have the two biggest plays from scrimmage this year. Everyone knows my feelings on Mason, but I’m surprised they are (supposedly) keeping him. As for Alridge, I hope his 2 weeks on the street have solved his fumbling issues, cuz Chris Russell reported that they are planning on using him in the offense right away.
Betts also has been productive when called upon so far
If Rock wasn’t a captain it would be an easy cut, other players have stepped up on specials. That said, cutting him might really damage the locker room. Things seem pretty fragile right now. I hope they an informed decision.
Betts
I believe the Cap hit for Betts would be too costly I think it’s rock that is getting the axe and +1 for CJ in regards to Thomas getting some action on the return.
How cool would that be: 2 lead blockers to one side, another fake lead blocker to the middle…
or 1 real one with 2 fake ones in different directions. heck, we could just have 3 running backs blocking with 2 wide outs running routes…if nothing else it might open a space for an underneath pass to one of the backs or for campbell to take off down the field.
it might work…in high school…
Just what we need
another guy to tell JC to hand the ball to inside the 10. No offense to Alridge, of course.

JC Bandwagon all day!
what's going to happen when Alridge fumbles?
oh man…Cerrato is going to go back to living in that cave for a couple weeks

lnine linemen…why do we need nine linemen when only five can play at any one time. we should go out and sign more QBs.
If we fielded two QB, 3 RB, 3 WR, a center and our only decent linemen (left side), no one will be able to defend us because they won’t know what we will do.
Cerrato = Genius

i guess they figure instead of blocking, we will just outrun them to the sideline. if we make it out of bounds fast enough, we can score with little time off the clock like the colts.

practice squad shuffle
1 thing they could do is move William Robinson from the practice squad to the regular roster to fill the hole in OL depth and then move Mason to the practice squad. That’s probably a long shot but you never know.
I don’t see them taking a $5 mil salary cap hit on Betts.
Get rid of Portis
He is selfish and Zorn has to call plays based on his selfish demands. He can’t make anyone miss, and constantly runs into his own blockers instead of planting his foot in the ground and cutting to a hole. Plus he always goes down too easy. Redskins will be mediocre at best until they get a team player at RB.
