So it looks like Chris Samuels and Marc Bulger are both go's. Once again Redskins Nation has their hopes up for an "easy" win. Is this the Zorn we expect to see in 5 hours? All smiles in the post game after a 30+ point victory?

Have at it.

I'll be tweeting from Fedex as Sugar and I will be at the gates before they open around 8:30AM. Hopefully we'll see some Orakpophobia shirts out there.

Sorry guys, I regret to inform you I will not be able to keep up with you during the game. I agreed to go over a buddy’s house to watch it, so his kids can keep my kids busy, and his wife can keep my wife busy;-) Best of all, I get to drink a whole bunch of beer I didn’t pay for. Happy bloggin fellas. GO SKINS!!!

Is our secondary doing as well as the stats imply?

The Rams have more rushing yards than passing at this point.

I must say, I usually love this site.

That said, during the game threads, I find the whiniest bunch of fake fans I have ever heard (or read, as the case may be).

Last week, JC should be fired. This week we are one of the four worst teams in the league. ? Seriously????

In a game we are winning?? From ‘fans’ on a fan site. Are you all f***ing kidding me???

Where are the fans?? Do I need to find another site or something, and only come here for the great interviews during the week (and fun in the offseason).

Yeah Seriously

I’ve backed everything, but this is pathetic. With the proper play calling the team should have had at leat 18 more points in the first half and should have easily scored 30 points this week.
The only reason they have not is poor coaching, and poor play calling. I am a fan of the team, I am and will be a Redskins fan forever but it’s time to realize Zorn in in over his head.
How can a team not score more than 20 points against a team like the Rams???? Coaching and play calling.

You need to come to the sight everyday so you can wakeup too, the team might win today but it’s far from a top

I have seen you around. Great insight usually, and it is find to critize, but that is not what I see in the game threads. What I see here is giving up.

No one is cheering, people are EXPECTING bad play. They are waiting for it. Almost hoping for it (to justify their comments). It is pathetic. Honestly.

Zorn's play calling

is the reason and he’s the one who’s driving a talented team into the ground. I gave him 16 games last year and said the first game was just that a first game but
DAMN! How can you not score in the REDZONE except for not calling the right plays. He’s no better than I would be and I have no NFL experience. Yes, it is sad. Look at the scores of all the games in the first half. Which teams does this game matchup with….yeah

I usually hate to read negative comments too.

BUT This team is looking very bad, all the expectations, and they play like this? Iit’s very aggravating. People are mad and negative because they really believe, as i do, that this team should be so much better.

They are better than this.

But the fans should be too.

I should be seeing, ‘Come on, we are better than this’ ’Let’s stop em on this drive’ ‘Ok, this drive is ours’,

Instead I see, ‘Oh, look great run. We will probably screw this up and get another FG. F***. We suck’

by snowburnt on Sep 20, 2009 3:47 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

We scored an offensive touchdown in that game at least. The giants are an excellent team and we shouldn’t have been anywhere near them in that game, but we stayed within 6.

We should have blown these guys out. we were in the red zone every drive without scoring. A good offense would have punched it in. A good offense is not what we have here.

I’m happy with JCam’s growth, but they need to let him throw it in the red-zone especially when they aren’t getting anywhere on the ground. That run from portis at the end was a terrible call on zorn. If he’d done play action there we would have had guys wide open…they’d bit down hard on the run.

I'm positive that we'll have a new coach next year if Zorn continues calling plays the way he did in the Redzone this game.

How’s that for a positive?

And here, I felt we needed to give Zorn 3 years, but that play calling in the redzone, after the playcalling last week….

by BillWard on Sep 20, 2009 9:00 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

jesus h. christ

from what I could gather from the 20 tv’s in Magnolia while I was at work:

1) Our offense looked better, UNTIL
2) we got into the redzone and couldn’t punch it in!
3) Jim Zorn doesn’t believe in calling play action
4) Chris Horton is the best thing that happened to us in a while

But I think I got it now guys – they’re playing possum!! Think about it, first week our offense totally sucks, this week they can move the ball, but can’t score. IT’S A PLOY! We all now how Zorn like trickery. By the time Week 5 rolls around, Malcolm will be catchin so many balls in the endzone, we’ll see him on K street during the week!

Right you guys??? Right? Please tell me I’m right…

The first play of the game was actually play action. An under throw by Jc to an open kelly…one yard too short. We ran like ~20 plays in the redzone and the only throw I recall to the endzone was a pass by portis to cooley. Not good.

by liger99 on Sep 20, 2009 10:55 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

no line…no offense…and now a season ending injury

i guess the headlines will read, no one saw it coming

cant wait for cerrato to have his epiphany and state with a straight face that he has figured out the secret to success…football teams begin with line play on both sides of the ball

on a positive note…liked the aggressive play calling at the end…at least he put the game in the players hands. it will help build some confidence heading into next week

by les boulez bomber on Sep 21, 2009 12:37 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Aggressive play calling...

Right up until they tried to run the ball to the same side they’d been running all game. Really? Come on Zorn.

If they’d done a play action fake either someone would have been open or you could have had cooley seal the edge for a QB sneak. They were ALL over the run, everyone was expecting it. Even my dog was barking: “Run! Run!”

by snowburnt on Sep 21, 2009 8:12 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I’ll admit I didn’t watch the game, and have only seen the stat. line and read a bunch of reviews of the game, but our offense looks absolutely putrid on paper. A win is a win, but beyond that fact. That we eked out a win with a score that belongs in MLB, unless our pass-catchers step up, and someone can man up and rush past the dam* goal-line, this is just an embarrassing team. Embarrassing.

by Grand Tanyon Sturtze on Sep 21, 2009 1:45 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

The offense wasn’t as bad as we want to make it out to be. Jason spread the ball around and we had good long drives. Running game still isn’t quite there, but we have a short passing game we can fall back on. He’s still not good in most of the mid to long range throws yet.

Just about all of our offensive drives lasted 10+ plays and got us into the redzone. That was where the offense stuttered. I think most of it is the play calling. They tried to force a running back in there and it cost us valuable downs and yardage. I don’t see why they think it’ll work when there’s less space to run vertically if it didn’t work in the open field.

by snowburnt on Sep 21, 2009 8:16 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

What a flukey game...

the offensive play calling needs to make major progress, it’s way too predictable. Nonetheless, I’m glad my boys got it done today, DEFENSE.
