What does that mean?

There are way more Hockey games a season than Football games. How many tix could the Caps and Skins potentially sell(capacity times Home Games). Unless it’s even or the Skins had way more potential tix to sell than the caps that stat seems really meaningless.

What it means

Verizon Center holds approx 18,000 for 41 home games = 738,000.

Fedex holds approx 91,000 for 8 home games = 728,000.

There is a slight edge to hockey IF you are able to sell out every game, which is what Ted Leonsis pretty much did.

I was at an event tonight at the Caps’ practice facility where all 1st time season ticket buyers got a free event, got to hear Ted talk, and got to meet a player. I’m just saying how different these 2 owners are and how different their approaches are to the fans.

Skins/Caps

I am a season ticket holder for the Skins and live next to the Verizon Center (and attend a ton of Wiz and Caps games). I’ve met Ted Leonsis a couple times and I’m just aching for the Skins to be run as well as the Caps have the last several years (in respect to the game day experience and how fans are treated).

Leonsis made all the same mistakes Snyder did, which he admits, but he fixed it.

Ted Leonsis is a genius. I’ve been to exactly 1 Caps game in my life (about 7 years ago), and he was out thanking the fans as they left for coming to the game… Very cool.

skins/caps

The differences couldn’t be clearer. While Ted comes up with a brilliant plan to keep Pittsburgh(and other) fans from buying Verizon Center tickets, Snyder sues longtime ticket holders that have had a bit of misfortune, takes and sells their tickets to brokers who enable opposing fans to “take over” Fed-Ex Field. Is it any wonder that one teams popularity is on the way up and the others is starting to decline? 200,000 person waiting list? Yeah, sure.

Did you actually read those articles in the Washington Post?

Or are you basing this comment on what you’ve heard from others who have?

Honesty, loyalty...

…and the best player in the league.

This fact is more of a positive reflection on the Caps and Leonsis than it is a negative reflection on the Skins and Snyder.
