Florio picks Redskins to win NFC
Mike Florio, the ProFootballTalk.com guru who has not traditionally been all that kind to the Redskins, made the bold prediction that the Redskins will face the defending champion Steelers in the Super Bowl. While this definitely doesn't count for anything, it does certainly make me feel nice. So much for being overlooked -- it seems as though a lot of people expect us to be a dangerous team that could go either way. Bill Simmons is probably the only ESPN employee to pick the Redskins to make the playoffs, but I'm getting the feeling that people are starting to respect the Redskins a bit more than they did just a few weeks ago. A nice beginning to the season, wouldn't you say?

I just saw this too and couldn’t believe it.
Went with his home team Steelers, and the Redskins.

Great minds think alike...
Or maybe we’re both idiots deep down inside and we don’t know it :-)

I'd be more excited about this
if I respected his other picks on that page. Bengals in the playoffs? No NFC East Wild Cards?
The rest seems pretty good. As much as I love the Skins though, I’m not calling them SB-bound yet. I could see it, but almost everything would have to go right for us this year, including the health of the O-Line. That’s a bit more of a prayer than a expectation or even hope.
But I agree, I think a fair number of analysts are picking the Redskins to be out of the playoffs, while at the same time saying that the Skins could go far.

I wonder if his source in Afghanistan told him something about the Skins we don't know

I am shocked.
Simmons is a perennial Washington Sports hater.
But here’s hoping no one else starts giving us any credit… even after we stomp the G-Men.

So Florio is
not as bad as Peter King. Good to know. How much do you wanna bet he’ll be the 1st to jump ship after one bad outing? Then he’ll say that he knew we sucked all along.
No, I like it better when the “experts” pick against us. There’s no room on the bandwagon for posers.

Bases covered to take all or no responsibility
Just like his sources or lack of, he’s covered the bases very well
A lot of careful thought went into that. Specifically, the guys at WSSP in Milwaukee put me on the spot Wednesday morning, and so I blurted out the picks my cousin Josh had e-mailed to me the day before..
But I’ll go with that. I’ve been saying for months that the Redskins could be the surprise team of the NFC, and the Steelers are bringing back too much talent and have too good of a coach to not be considered the favorites to return to the championship game
So when it happens he called it all along, if it doesn’t happen well it really wasn’t his pick he just borrowed because he had no better answer at the time. Written to take or not take credit—-Brilliant—NOT!

interesting though,
He picked skins as #22 on power rankings….but going to the sb?

I normally hate Florio.
And I don’t know what to take of his vaguely support Skins pick. But I do like this:
The reality is that no one knows what will happen, primarily because the only certainty is that injuries will screw up everything.

Exactly
It seems as if the media and “experts” aren’t willing to recognize the fact that it’s possible that almost any team at all can make it to the Super Bowl, just like ummm… I don’t know… last year’s Arizona Cardinals. Just like Florio says, no one knows what will happen, this same logic can be applied to the regular season and playoffs. Thus making predictions for the upcoming season pretty much useless.

Playoffs
Who had Philly and Arizona playing the NFC champion ship, and Philly wasn’t even considered a playoff team in the final weeks, and only a fluke tie to Cinci vs a loss is what allowed the team to make the playoffs.
In Today’s NFL I think its more important than ever to build a team to make the playoffs because once into the playoffs it’s anyone’s game as to who will “make the run”, unless of course you’re Dallas then it’s always going to be one and done

Here's to
I truly do hope the Skins finish ahead of the Cowgirls and Eggles. Most of us over at BBV do.
BigRm, we’re expecting to see you Monday regardless of the outcome!
You play to win the game!

You miss me already?
Even if the Redskins blew the Giants out I wouldn’t be on BBV on Monday. Two days ago was the first time I ever commented on a fan site other than the Wizards’ or the Redskins’. I could make an appearance over there since everyone is dying to see me again, I don’t want to disappoint my fans.

we're waiting
in all seriousness, good game, you’re just a good fan. Things get hot in the division. Good luck.
You play to win the game!
