Now THIS is the Albert I've been waiting for. When we first signed Haynesworth, I , like most everyone I talked to, was a little taken aback at how calm his demeanor was, and how well thought out his statements were. While it's obvious he is not big on talking to the media, he is very well spoken and refreshingly candid. I was very impressed with all of this while watching his press conference, and have continued to be whenever I see him interviewed.
HOWEVER, this whole time I've been waiting for the PLAYER that we signed for $100mil to show up. I wanted to hear from the most destructive force in football over the past 3 years. While I was on the fence about signing him before free agency began (admittedly, more against than for), once he was signed I envisioned FINALLY having Dexter's successor. We haven't had that snot-dripping, spittle-flying, knuckle (or face?) stomping, scowling defender since the days of Manley and Marhall. THAT's what I've een longing for, and that's what I thought when we signed Big Al. Only I hadn't seen it. OK, maybe a little glimpse on that first defensive snap against Pittsburgh. But that's it.
"They all fall the same," Haynesworth said Wednesday. "What is he, 250? I weighed 250 when I was in the 10th grade."
I was in midseason, long ball to Moss form (even throwing my unsuspecting 4 year old into the ceiling) when I read this. Sick 'em Big Al.
Sorry, I didn't realize the link was effed up.
