So we waived Roydell (who really didn't see that coming after the injury) and sign Hackett. Thoughts?

Could this be an indication of their comfort level of Thomas/Kelly?

Earlier this offseason

I believe we brought him in, but he wanted too much money. I think he then went to Baltimore, but it didn’t pan out. This is the same offense he was in at Seattle. If he stays healthy, I think he would have a shot at beating Marko out for the 5th slot.

I don't like it

I liken this to Gibbs-Brunell. Zorn is comfortable with Hackett. he said that before. I think he will go to him at the first sign of struggle with Kelly or Thomas. Especially Kelly. Hackett is not a long term answer, but I think he will retard the growth of the younguns much like Brunell did with Campbell. (and Ramsey, for that matter)

I don’t see it being that significant of a situation

Kelly & Thomas have so much more ability than Hackett, I don’t see Zorn being blinded.
