Last time these two teams faced Gibbs was at the helm for a massive, 52-7 drubbing. Nothing is 'safe to say' with Belichick at the helm, but I expect a much closer game tonight. I'm cutting out of work now for Fedex Field. Ken and I will have access to this thread. I'll be tweeting from the game as well. Have at it.

They’re putting an awful lot of emphasis on tonight’s game. Not sure if that’s a good thing.

I heard Zorn yesterday say “you don’t really do any game planning in the preseason.”
Comcast Sportsnet interview of Greg Blache, from the announcer lead in
Blache was talkiing about gaming for Brady, because he was unhappy with the D’s performance against the Steelers and Ravens.
Zorn even said something about gaming on O as well, but the quote was about the D game planning for Brady.

I like the way Campbell is starting on this drive. Throws are crisp and confident.
Defense looked aggressive Nice to start with a 3 and out vs. NE.

This is going to be the big test. Can the offense rebound after giving up a TD. This drive is important, as far as preseason game drives are concerned.

we have more passing 1st downs (7-6) not much, but take what you can get
we have better 3rd down conversions
more net yards total and more yards per play average
10 yards per pass play average
even Hunter’s punting great - 53 yard average
only thing that stinks right now is the running game…..

I feel real good about a tie ball game at the half. I feel even better that the first string O put up 17 points in the first half against a quality defense.
Don't think we'll see the full first string again tonight.
