Orakpo Not in Camp Day 1 is Not the Redskins' Fault
"As of right now, though, there isn’t a slot to determine Orakpo’s deal; in fact it’s not even close. He’s in the middle of a gulf. The Texas defensive end/linebacker was taken with the 13th selection of the first round. On the higher side, the closest pick signed is Mark Sanchez, taken fifth overall....On the low side is center Alex Mack, taken at No. 21 by Cleveland. So we’re looking at eight slots on that end. Orakpo is the man in the middle."

yea just another diva WR
I’m not too worried about Orakpo though, you can tell he really wants to be here.
Only hope
Is that other teams start signing their picks.
I'm worried about the beer supply. After this case, and the other case, there's only one case left- Barney Gumble

i don't see why
we couldn’t start the process here, waiting on everyone is simply childish, if the guy wants in to camp, he tells his agent to get the deal done, period.
I used to be disgusted, now I try to be amused....
Agents that get their rookies
contracts lower than their slot would project, do not pick up other top clients. I feel it is less about the player and more about the agent trying to pick up future clients.
Ridiculous
The business aspect of our favorite sport is going to ruin (and has) a lot of rookie seasons. I fear Orakpo will miss valuable time over $
The system is definitely broken...
It’s ridiculous Stafford’s bonus is massively more than Cassel’s…who proved he can play in the NFL. Hopefully the owners and NFLPA agree on a tiered, fixed structure from the 1st all the way down to the 32nd pick.
Yes
this is the yearly example of why the NFL needs to take a page out of the NBA manual and implement a rookie payscale. They are the ones who need the most work, yet they end up getting the least. Give them all 3 or 4 year deals, slotted, and make them incentive laden. It’s tiring seeing overpaid busts languishing on rosters every year, destroying teams through their salary caps.
