Lead the league in 3 and outs

i just read on redskins.com in a Greg Blache "meet the coaches" that the redskins defense led the league in forced 3 and outs last year.  anyone have access to stat people who could tell you if we were the first team to do this and miss the playoffs?  does anyone else feel like we have been squandering a championship caliber D for years now? Or that we are about to do it again?

Poll
Is the offense going to come around this year and provide the neccessary points to make us a nfc east contender?
Of course, year 2 in any system is an improvement

Definitely feel that way too

Not to mention Portis and Santana are entering the later half of their prime. Time is now. You can win a Super Bowl with a 21ppg average…and entering year 2 of an offensive scheme should bring that up. I don’t know how it’s logistically possible it can go down (barring injuries). In addition the Redskins have a punter that won’t kick it 15 yards out of bounds when 3 and out does hit em.

I wouldn’t know where to begin to find those stats. I think we should make Sugar watch every game the last 10 years and take tallies of all the 3 and outs.

Portis and Santana

Yea they both really are. They’ve been underrated the whole time too because our offense just hasn’t been able to give them anything. Look at the one year our QB did a decent job and Santana finished second in the league in yards. The first 8 games our offense was playing solid and Portis was playing like an MVP. This team is hitting that now or never season these guys on offense are not young anymore, Campbell especially he’s 27 I know its been said enough but nows the time buddy.

I second that.

Sugar, get to work..
Please take the “No chance unless colt ends up at QB” off the poll ha

Any correlation to our D have the most 3 and outs because our offense was getting 3 and outted also?
Better be some HUGE improvements on offense this year

Sugar, you are SO right about Colt

Campbell is a bust.. Skins fans are just in denial because they don’t want to admit what they truly already know…. J.C. is a bum and needs to go. I hope he breaks his leg against the Patriots in the preseason.
Colt won’t win the Superbowl.. but he will be way better than J.C. ever will be his very first year. He is a natural playmaker with instincts to make something out of nothing. And most times, the Redskins have nothing. Campbell can’t improvise the way solid qb’s can. He is a robot, and not a very good robot at that.

what exactly

are you basing this on… Colt’s performance against 3rd string D’s… plz!! Come back after the boy is introduced to real defenses (unlike the ones he faces in preseasons and at HI). The kid has talent, I just don’t have as much faith in him as you do… and i think his athletic talents are inferior to JC’s.

the 1991 Skins

are the all-time margain of victory for a season by any Super Bowl Champion..and they say the Bears team of the 80s was supposed to be such a great team

Colt Brennan

Colt’s not ready but he’s got nine times the instincts Campbell has I would honestly feel alright with him starting over Campbell.

Mcdaniels

Also McDaniels wanting Orton over Campbell was probably good for us we need our draft picks, but wow that should’ve been a blow to Campbell although the way his brain processes I don’t think it hit him at all how bad that was.
