JC: "One thing coach has me working on is pushing the ball back at the end of my drop so I don't have such a windup on some of my throws. The Ball comes out a lot quicker.

Right now it feels a little awkward but I can see a major difference when the ball comes out and it's something I'm going to keep pushing and working on it."

Windup

This is good news. Shortening that release is going to be huge.

This is

the type of things I have been talking about him learning in the west coast the different throws the way the routes are ran it all new to him and he is going to be very good at it. Think of the type of QB’s that have been the most successful with the WC it is the smart guy not the big arm great scrambler QB Jason will flourish in the WC one day and I hope it is with the Redskins.

This is

a BIG DEAL. Isn’t this why Snyderatto hired Zorny in the first place?

Jim Zorn, 55. Sean Miller, 40. AJ Hinch, 34. Notice a pattern here?

Yes it is.

None of Zorn’s predecessors had his resume or experience as a QB/QB coach.

good news

now Zorn needs to get him to anticipate where/when the receiver will be open and release the ball prior to that. From what I saw in the past JC was waiting for the wr to get open then trying to gun the ball to him. He needed the big windup to do that. A shorter/quicker release may have less ball speed, so he will need to anticipate better too.

Definitely.

The WCO is all about finding space, zone routes, man-zone reads, short drops, timing, etc.

JC answers those questions like a pro.

Man, is he a beauty. Great composure. Perfect answers. Ideal mindset.
