My Mock 1
Just for kicks and giggles, I decided to post a mock draft I did for round 1 of this years draft. What's the concensus? I saw one draft that had us taking Knowshon Moreno with our pick. If he's there, I am not too sure I would like us taking him. But he won't make it to 13, there are 5, maybe 6 teams that could use him that come before us. I personally like Chris Wells at RB, and really, he should be a first round pick...I could see the Jets, Browns, or Saints taking him, but he should make the top 20. Can't believe I left him out. I'd love for us to get the big back.

nice
I hope we do get Andre Smith.I watched Chris Wells in a few games last year.It would be nice to have him to but he probably won’t make it out of the 1st rd.

Initial reaction
And this happens with most drafts….are the surprise players that drop really far.
Tyson Jackson at #31? I can’t see the Browns drafting Moreno that high when they have Jamal and could trade down and get him later.
- - The Rams HAVE to draft an OL after losing Pace or Bulger will end up in the hospital and the Kyle Boller era will begin.

Agreed.
Moreno projects to probably be a late 1st round pick. It’d be a waste to take him that high.

His versatility will help him go in the first round...though of course, its highly debatabel where. Even though the Browns have an aging Jamal Lewis, the sort of system Mangini will want to rn will have need for a versatile back with good hands-Moreno

Errr....
Did you write that entire comment in the title box? Because that makes it somewhat difficult to read.

OTs
can be had in rounds 2-3…this draft is incredibly deep at OL.

Running back
I really hope we go running back @ 13 both Wells and Knowshon could get to us and they both are going to be starters some place else this year and the good thing about it is we won’t have to start either one. Betts is done we have wanted a long time for him to step up the last year was proof he will never start anywhere. Both of these guy’s will be gone before the second round and maybe sooner than a lot of people think if either one is there we should take him.

eh
A running back would be great, but what good is he without any holes to run through. A good running back is made better by a good passing game…we need OL first.

Right ON.
Good RBs are a dime a dozen & available every draft in every round !

We just need to find
the next Brandon Jacobs (drafted 2005 in the 4th Round) to bring some Thunder to CP’s Flash!

Unfortunately...
This years draft is short on backs over 230 pounds…at least any that are on the radar. Though wouldn’t hurt to look at undrafted guys. I think Ron Dayne is still unsigned. He won’t get any big gains, but unless Zorn starts letting Sellars run the ball more (and I don’t think it will happen, but after a year around his team, he may try to better utilize the people around him-namely Mike S)
Furthormore, I think our line will be significalty better, even without many additions. Heyer should have this last year to try and develop into a strong starter. But even as a solid backup, finding him undrafted was a great find. Jansen likely won’t be resigned when his contract expires (I think he has two years left, maybe three?) So in a draft this deep, OT would be a wise round 2 choice. Of course, WE HAVE NO SECOND ROUND PICK! Skins will drive me to drink if we don’t hold onto those 2-4 round picks. For the needs we have, getting a 2 and a 4 for our number one, and perhaps a 6 thrown in would be wise.

38 for 132 is good YPC
projects for a good season…lol. 1300 yrds and 19 TDs or so… Good TD to yardage ratio. Where is now? still in DET?

I'm glad the Bungles
weren’t smart enough to take that trade offer for CJ last year

Mock Feedback
I like the Skins taking Andre Smith at 13. Id rather have Michael Oher but I wont complain as long as the Skins take a OT or DE at 13.
I dont think Moreno will go 5th overall. He could go in the late first round but I dont see it. I think hes a early 2nd round pick. Curry wont drop to 8. Hes a top 4 pick. Pettigrew at 11 is a reach. Its a need for the Bills but I think they wait and pickup another TE later in the draft.
Other than that I think its a really solid mock dude. HTTR.

I am inclined
to believe that Curry won’t make it that far either. He has the fewest question marks of anyone on the draft, besides Smith & Stafford. None of which would be a bad choice at number 1. I think Curry is the smartest and safest bet, though. Just that LBs aren’t reguarded as highly as lineman have become in recent drafts. I a m a firm believer in winning the trenches…it comes FIRST
