I think he's coming to D.C.

Redskins Insider/Outsider actually did some work and had a conversation with Mark Sanchez, speaking about his visit with the Redskins.

Sanchez and Snyder sitting in a tree...

"It felt like USC -- a very tight-knit family, like more than a team. They're a family. It's tough to figure that out on such a short visit, but it was obvious. It was great area, very beautiful. We drove by Georgetown. It was so nice. It was an unbelievable visit."

"All of it was awesome, and I had a great time with every team. Every time you walked through a locker room it was like, 'Man, I can see myself here.' But all I can say is I had a blast with the Redskins, and I felt at home there and I felt great about being there, and obviously I would wear their colors. I love their colors."

Not sure if Sanchez told Snyder exactly how he felt about becoming a Redskin, but if Snyder knows or finds out how Sanchez feels about coming here then I think it's pretty much a done deal, but that's IMHO. Who knows, maybe the Redskins are actually turning the corner and this is a bluff so the Redskins could get some more draft picks. However, the Redskins would most certainly have me fooled because it's starting to seem more and more likely that we trade up to get this guy.

You have to respect the fact that Snyder wants to win and is willing to do almost anything to do so, but the fact remains that he isn't going about this process the correct way. Why couldn't Snyder use his money wisely and get Scott Pioli?

I guess Snyder hasn't changed as much as we may have thought during last offseason. We all have to realize that our owner could be Al Davis instead of Snyder. Granted, it's not a huge difference between them but that's what gets me through all of this.

God I hope Not

Drafting sanchez would be the biggest mistake the redskins could possibly make. All I have to say is it would be Heath Shuler all over again

Mistake, yes

Heath Shuler, not—> the kid will be a good NFL QB—> It’s just not a need for the Redskins…Best Player maybe.

Can't agree

Hey, I hope the kid does well-with all the scrutiny QBs take, I like to see them suceed. I am just not convinced that ONE year is indicative of the kid’s ability to suceed at the level. for some reason, I don’t get a bad feeling about him, but I would be borderline suicidal if we trade up to get him.

It would take me over the edge if he didn’t start right away. We would have to dump 40 mil over five/six years with this kid at the minimum. He needs to start right away, and we’ll see what we get ASAP. I’d rather us trade up for Stafford, send JC to DET and work a package from there. Though that will be a 60 million dollar deal-where will that cap space come from???

though

don’t get me wrong-I am not endorsing such a trade. But if we trade up for a QB, it may as well be the best one. The kid is brialliant as well-should have no problem learning the plays, and breaking down pro-level defenses in a season or two.

JC17>any QB in draft

I agree

Drafting a QB would be the dumbest move Snyder has ever made. And that is a big statement considering all the dumb moves Snyder has made. We have too many holes to fill to waste 2 or 3 picks on a QB and we have a good one already

Maybe...

if we get him, and maybe if he excels with the Redskins, and maybe he lasts more than 2 years here, and maybe if all these things come together, we can move on getting the pieces we need for the rest of the team. Unfortunately, we are not a franchise QB from winning a Uper Bowl. If Snyder’s going to do it, fine. Just do it and move on to the rest of the needs. I can’t believe that just came from my fingers, I feel like I betrayed myself saying that, but good Lord, let’s just get on with it.

Super Bowl, not Uper Bowl

at this point...

I feel bad for a good QB watching his “team” stab him in the back by questioning his potential and ability… It’s like going out and watching a guy throw one pass and saying “Good Lord- this guy is terrible and can’t do anything!”

The dude had one year under a new coach/offense (as well did the recievers, backs, line, TEs, etc, etc). It was obvious by year’s end that the stumbles of this team didn’t fall solely on the QBs shoulders…

but you know what- I hope Jason gets traded at this point~ maybe he can move on from this abusive relationship (or as Dane Cook calls it relatn$h!t)

What if...

What if Campbell really isn’t any good? Zorn would know of anyone being a QB coach and it has been 4 years. JC did improve last year, but he squandered some opportunities. I of course am in the boat that wants to see JC through one more year…just saying….

by Kevin Ewoldt on Apr 23, 2009 9:03 AM EDT reply actions

give him

this last year, and if he really isn’t (although i think he is) a very good qb, then we can get a qb in next year’s draft when there will be a lot more talent at the position. IF we need to, we haven’t even given Colt a chance yet and they just wanna go draft another one? geeze…

by Rekka on Apr 23, 2009 9:28 AM EDT up reply actions

Devil's advocate.

If the alternative is foregoing this season and drafting some unproven college QB, I would also like “to see JC have one more year.” He hasn’t played bad enough to risk a new development at QB. And he has shown some progress over the years (however minimal).

Nevertheless, I too have wondered what Jim Zorn really thinks about JC. I know what he has said to the press. But could he just be playing the good cop in all of this? I don’t think he is such a pushover that he would just back down from Snyderrato if he TRULY believed that JC was the future of the franchise. Zorn may be secretly grovelling at the opportunity to bring a younger, fresher QB that doesn’t have to unlearn so much.

IN JC WE TRUST

yea

I’d put my money on that. I don’t think Zorny likes Colt or JC’s development.

confidence

When it comes to QBs and coaches…This team is like an insecure man burning through women b/c he’s afraid they will break his heart if he lets them stay too long!

Time to put on the “big boy” pants and tuff some things out Snyder….
