Redskins Trading Up?
More names are being associated with the Skins besides Sanchez. Orakpo as we can see from other posts...but why not Curry? Why not J Smith? If the redskins were to trade up, the last one I'd hope they do it for would possibly be Orakpo...though Sanchez is danger-close. I'd rather use Curry as a Tweener dependent on situation over Orakpo, and "O" has a medical history. Our O-line does need to get younger, so I would lose no sleep if we took an OT. Comments?

draft
Skins need O-lineman and a DE. Let’s hope the Sanchez thing is a smoke screen, but with Synder, you never know. Frankly, I think the Skins should trade down and get a 2nd round pick and load up on DE and OT.

yea
the skins can’t walk away from this draft w/o drafting an OL early.

I must agree
More and more, I must agree that OT is the way to go. I say again I would hate to see the Skins’ trade up for a one-year wonder in Sanchez (especially after seeing compelling evidence that college QB’s with 3-4 years starting experience do better at the pro level, especially early on). Any of the 3 top prospects (two smiths and an Oher) are acceptable. Though I would like to think that one could slip to number 13. If we were to trade up for a QB, it may as well be Stafford. I would also pick Freeman over Sanchez…though there may be no need to trade up for Freeman. I wouldn’t want to trade completely out of the first round, but I think getting back to around 19-23 and pick up a 3/5 as well would be beneficial, maybe even a 1/2, dependent on who the desperate team trading up may be.

Well, technically, they CAN.
Just watch Snyderatto do it. It would be the wrong decision, but I wouldn’t be TOO terribly surprised.
Insert witty and/or humorous signature here.

racist turd sandwich.
sike. I’m convinced that we do need tackle. Yesterday on NFL Live they showed some clips of JC’s first 8 games and last 8 games and the disparity was incredible. His completion percentage drops from 66% to 59%? 8 to 0 td ratio versus 5 to 6? A quarterback just doesn’t suddenly start sucking and the only place to blame is the offensive line. Forget about JC for a moment and look at CP! Look at the season he was having the first 8 games or so. Sure, maybe he wore down a bit but I’m sure a lot has to do with the offensive line.

It's not that cut and dry....
Strength of schedule…the Skins played the worst teams in the league the 1st half of the season…that surely is a major factor…Aints, CLE, DET, STL…though the counter argument to that is how can the Skins not put up points on these teams. I still don’t really remember.

We played some not so good teams down the stretch too bro.
Seattle, Cincy, SF (even if they were coming together at the end), Dallas (at home after we beat them on the road).

Well..
Cincy nearly beat the Giants and they tied the Eagles…so they weren’t all that bad. Playing the Steelers and Ravens is rough.

Ravens
A team which highlights the year to year difference, pre-season everyone looked at the Ravens game as a win because of how that team preformed in 2007. Every team is full of “hope”, “if” and “maybes” it’s the teams will minimize them that will have succesful years.
Minimize with no injuries
Minimize with solid backups
Minimize by building a solid “program”, which does not change signficantly year to year
The Redskin’s have failed at all three to date, and have been unsuccesful.

Very true.
So you’re saying we need to trade up and draft Sanchez? ha.

I'm tired...
I just can’t seem to muster the strength to even talk about what we’re missing, and what we need, and if Sanchez will be good or what. I think I’m just going to sit back with my Guinness and just watch how all the other teams are going to get better, and we just stay mediocre like we have been. If we could imagine ourselves as Patriot’s fans for a day and watched the Redskins during draft day, we would be laughing. We take this stuff pretty serious, while the teams that know how to produce winning teams look at us as a model on how not to run a franchise.
