Skins 2009 Schedule Part I
Just taking a look at the Redskins 2009 schedule and predict what kind of year they will have. At first glance it doesn't look that bad, but being in the NFC East always makes the season hard to predict. You also never know from one year to the next how the teams will perform, but we'll see how much of an idiot I am after the season is over.
All I have to say is...WTF!!! I Don't believe that we have to open the season with the Giants again. Honestly, does the league hate us. I will chalk this up as a loss. This is under the assumption that the Giants trade for a receiver to replace Plaxico "I got heat in my pants" Burress.
Then it's the home opener against St Louis to get some revenge for that embarassing loss last year that coupled with the finale loss to the 49ers , made sure we didn't get into the playoffs. This is a win.
Then it's off to Motown. It's a win...move on.
Next up is Tampa Bay at home. I'm assuming Leftwich will be the starting QB(at least by this point in the season). Byron picked the Skins apart when he came in for an injured Big Ben last year. Also, is it just me or does it seem like we can never beat the Bucs? The one time I can remember that it looked like we had beat them the men in the zebra stripes gave Alstott a TD when it seemed very clear that he did not break the plain. Yes, I am still very bitter about that call and it doesn't seem like time will heal the wounds. This is a loss even though we should be able to beat this team.
Now it is off to Carolina. The key to this game is Haynesworth and the rest of the defense stopping that two headed monster of a running attack that the Panthers have. 100 million says that Haynesworth & Co. do the job and this is a win. Over .500 baby!!
The Redskins now host Kansas City. The Chiefs are obviously in rebuilding mode. The Skins win in a very hostile enviorment.
This is the first divisional game of the year. It's against the Eagles, at home and on prime time. Too much pressure. We lose a close, hard fought game. Back to reality.
After a devastating Monday night loss the Skins head into the bye at 4 - 3. Over .500, but in the NFC East they will probably have to have a strong stretch here to even think playoffs.
The eighth game of the season is in Hotlanta. The Falcons are proving by this point that they were no fluke last season. Even so, the birds will be no match for the Redskins after a week off thinking about the Eagles loss.
So midway through the season I have the Redskins at 5 - 3. Not bad. I'll take a look at the next eight games on Friday. Til then!

I posted this in another blog....
We havent opened an NFL season vs the same team in back to back years on the road since the 1956 -1957 season. We played the Steelers in those road games.

I also noticed you have a couple errors in your post.....
All I have to say is…WTF!!! I Don’t believe that we have to open the season with the Giants again. If that wasn’t bad enough, it’s in their new digs.
We face the Giants in the Meadowlands. Not there new stadium. They dont open their new stadium til 2010.
Next up is Tampa Bay in FL.
We face the Bucs in Washington not FL
The Redskins now travel to Kansas City.
We face the Chiefs in Washington not KC
Dont take this personal just helping you out.
