Why debate QBs
It's really not about the QBs,E is it?
Every other week, a QB discussion is thrown up on the Fan Posts, which generate a lot of banter about which QB is better, comparisons, defenses etc.
Official "STFU about Jay Cutler"
League Source. Rich Tandler, who's opinion I typically respect even likes the idea of getting Cutler, I think he's dead wrong.
The real issue is if, Vinny or Danny go out and get Cutler does that mean Zorn is on the way out and Shanahan is on the way in? It's been stated time and again that for the 2009 season Zorn and Campbell are tied together. If the team shows improvement, makes strides then Campbell gets a contract and Zorn keeps his job. So, if Campbell is out of a job with a Cutler trade does that mean Zorn is gone too.
Evidence exists that Vinny and Shanahan are having conversations, From TORB, as Vinny stated during an interview...
"And then we also got a guy that Denver cut, Anthony Alridge, who the year before from the University of Houston, at the combine ran 4.34, at his personal workout ran a 4.22 and he is a third down guy. I talked to Mike Shanahan about him. When he got cut, when he was on the wire, I called him and said Mike, what do you think about this guy. He said, get him. He said he is the fastest guy I have ever seen on the field with the ball in his hands. He was a rookie last year.
TORB goes on to even discuss the trade ideas too...The Jay Cutler Rumors Strike Back
The decision and discussion is not Cutler or Campbel, it should be
Zorn and Campbell
or
Cutler and Shanahan
My vote is Zorn and Cambell

Explain yourself.
What’s wrong with Mike Shanahan as a coach (not GM)?

I am 100% comfortable
with whatever decision Snyderrato makes. If they decide to keep Campbell, and gamble on him being our long-term QB, that is fine. Our team can still dominate.
If they decide to trade Cutler for Campbell or Colt and one 1st round draft pick, then IMO that would be even better.
From a fan’s perspective, Campbell is boring. Give me a Favre-like gunslinger any day. You know that Cutler would come here with a chip on his shoulder, ready to prove the naysayers wrong. I think he would work with Zorn just fine. And if not, bring on Shanahan (a future hall of fame, 2-time SB, proven coach with a winning record)!

So...
now we want to get rid of our QB after less than 2 years and our HC after 1?
Nice.

Jason Campbell has played QB
for the Washington Redskins for 4 years (3 as a starter from the beginning of the season). How long before you run out of excuses? Zorn may or may NOT be successful. I like him and he looks like he might be a good teacher. But, Mike Shanahan has proven he can be successful in the NFL as HC.
2 Superbowls is 2 more than Zorn.
But why couldn’t Zorn and Cutler get along and be successful?

Enlighten me...
Did Shanahan have an OC in Denver or was he the only one calling the offense? I ask that because if he didn’t have an OC, then let’s keep Zorn as OC, Shanahan as coach, Cutler as QB, keep Campbell as a back-up, fly the entire Broncos team over here, give them Redskins uniforms, and they can rename them as the Denvington Broncskins. I know I went out on a rant there, but seriously, I’m excited about this season anyway Snyder decides to go. I think that we will see a dramatic improvement in the overall team performance.

he had Kubiak
in that role until he became Houston’s HC and the Den. Offense hasn’t been the same since..
I think the exposure of the dirty O-line tactics has contributed to this more than anything

Yeah.
The league’s cracked down on Denver’s blocking scheme, finally.

How will Rock Cartwright
be affected by the NFL’s rule change regarding wedge blocking on kick returns?
by VA_Skin on Apr 2, 2009 8:23 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Not at all...why do you ask...
Alridge or Dorsey will be running back kick-offs without the use of a wedge
by dr WNC on Apr 2, 2009 8:35 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I thought Rock
did a nice job as our KR last year. Mainly because he ran north and south (instead of all that dancing sideline to sideline for minimal gain) behind wedge blocking. Maybe a 2-man wedge is still legal and would be just as effective. However…
If Alridge/Dorsey are handling KR duties, what will Cartwright do? Hand them their towels?

I want Rock to keep running kicks back.
He did fairly well last year.
And if you ask me, the whole “no wedges” rule is for pussies, anyway.

Denver did have an OC.
I can’t think of his name right now but Denver cut him, which started Cutler’s disenchatment with the Broncos.
But that scenario you just described would be perfect.

so...
Jim Zorn as OC
Shanahan as HC
and the QB situation will soon be answered…
I’m pumped!

I could
def work with that. It will allow Zorn more time to learn from a Coach with much to teach. Then, When Shan retires, Zorn will be ready to retake the reigns and maintain continuity. But the whole Broncos team? Eh…Db’s maybe, offense, sure, why not?

I can't believe I have to say this...
but Zorn won’t accept a demotion. That’s not how things work.
