"I knew when we played in San Francisco (the final game of the 2008 regular season) that that was going to be my last game for the Redskins," Evans said. "You see how they operate in free agency, and I'm not the kind of guy they value. Guys like me, Ryan Clark, Antonio Pierce, guys who start at the bottom and work their way up, they don't keep those guys around. So, I never, never thought I would be coming back to Washington.

We definitely need to talk about this...
I mentioned it before when Gibbs/Williams talked about “true” Redskins that worked their way to the top….Pierce did it…and we let him walk. Probably THE worst message to send to the team…looks like it was received.
Chris Wilson and Rob Jackson
better be able to get to the QB or we will look like idiots for not keeping Evans. I think Blache likes Rob Jackson…I have no way of substantiating that.

Should have kept him
3.5 sacks in 11 games isn’t bad for his price. Now with AH in the middle could have possibly been even better. Bad move letting him go.
whatever
I’d hardly call him a guy that started at the bottom and worked his way “up,” at least not in the context of Pierce and Clark. Pierce is one of the better linebackers in the league; Clark is the same at safety. Evans is a 30 year old backup who didn’t work his way past some no-so-good players.
I wouldn’t call this move a bad one, but it was a mistake with Pierce and Clark.
Who's world is it? It's yours.
Clark
Clark benefited from playing next to Sean Taylor and Troy P….it’s a guess how’d he do next to Laron Landry. Better than Reed Doughty…thats for sure.
