Hey Washington fans, my name is Jake and I am one of the writers for BattleRedBlog, the SB Nation site devoted to the Houston Texans. I’m sure I’m not the first blogger from another team to visit your site and post something arbitrary because it happens regularly at BRB. Sometimes it is relevant to either the Texans or the NFL at large and worth reading, and other times it can be the opposite.
I just completed a Mid-offseason Mock Draft, and wanted to share who I selected for your team for you. I hope this isn’t a waste of your time and welcome feedback whether it is negative or positive. Below is the excerpt of who I thought the Redskins would take and why, as well as possible alternatives. If you would like to view the entire Mock Draft to see how I got to your pick, simply follow the link above in the beginning of this paragraph.
(Author's note: My comments might seem negative toward the Redskins, but they're not. I actually live in the D.C. area because I'm in the Marine Corps and I have grown to like the Redskins because of the dedication of the fanbase. These comments are limited to my view of your owner and general manager. I hope you don't find them insulting, I was just trying to be honest.)
13. Washington Redskins: Michael Johnson/DE/Georgia Tech (Previous Pick: Michael Oher) – Vinny Cerrato is a yes-man to owner Dan Snyder who runs the show in Washington and Snyder loves making a splash. Johnson with all of his physical talent but questionable work ethic would be that splash. I personally don’t think that the Redskins would have cut Jason Taylor over an issue like missing training camp time if they didn’t have a backup plan already in mind. Robert Ayers is another option, but I think that Snyder will take the more physically gifted athlete every time, and that’s Johnson.
Thanks for your time, good luck in the Draft.
