DbacksSkins' Redskins writeup for Revenge of the Birds community mock draft

As the resident Redskins fan at Revenge of the Birds, SBN's Arizona Cardinals blog, Charles asked me to take the Redskins' draft pick in the RotB community mock draft. Given that Orakpo and Maualuga were already taken, I went with OT Andre Smith of Alabama.

And.... begin raking me over the coals.

Good Pick

I really like the idea of Smith falling to the Redskins at #13, yes he’s had his problems and with many other teams his problems may continue to escalate but I tend to believe with his “mentor” playing left tackle for the Redskins he will strive to be somone special. He has the talent it’s just his head is a little loose, hopefully Samuels can be a guide.

With Samuels beside him as his teammate,

and Buges’ foul mouth berating him as his coach, I do think we’d be able to keep Smith in line. (No pun intended)

I really want to know what Chris Samuels has to say about him…I’ll see if I can make that happen.

The biggest problem for me...

is his missing the Bowl game. That shows a consistent history of disruption.

As for talent, he’s top 5. I just wonder about him from the neck up.

It was because of a Agent. It wasnt like he was arrested for something bad off the field. He shouldnt of had the contact with the agent but I dont think its a serious problem like other players who are in the NFL.
