NFL Tweaks the "cap" number
According to Adam Schefter at NFL.com: Salary Cap expands to 127 Million
Because teams didn’t spend as much as they were supposed to under the collective bargaining agreement the past three years, teams were notified Wednesday that the salary cap will increase over $4 million to $127 million for this coming year, according to sources with two NFL teams. The collective bargaining agreement calls for cap adjustment down if teams spend over the cap in cash and adjustment up if they don’t spend up to the cap.
Well this proves it, another 4 million only 96 Million to go and the Redskins are signing Haynesworth...not really.
This provides the extra cushion for the Redskins to sign Hall, expect to see the Headline that Hall is a Redskins before Friday.
In other news, an offer has been extended to everyone's favorite Kicker, which really does not resign him it just gives the Redskin's a "match" opportunity.
Per the official redskin blog
The Redskins tendered a contract to Shaun Suisham today, meaning that the team can now match any offer to he might receive as a free agent.
From a practical standpoint, this makes it fairly likely that Suisham will battle Dave Rayner for the kicker position in training camp
Let the battle begin!
