How do you miss an extra point distance field goal?
Enuff said...
Ok maybe not. Washington dominated this game with it's second and third string filling in for starters. With the exception of Chris Cooley, what does that say about the Skins Staff? I have been saying all year it isn't the players, but for crying out loud the last three losses (including this one) the skins have looked like a decent team. On both sides of the ball. It's a shame that a field goal kicker can't hit one inside 30 yards. A crying shame. I know I am not a professional ball player, but I am pretty sure that's what he gets paid for. The look on zorn's face was priceless...... even he couldn't believe it.

Shaun Suisham is just a terrible kicker.
I say he is terrible, because he has no, 0, absolutely NO CLUTCH ABILITY. He needs to find a new home because we need a kicker who can make a 20 yard field goal. This year looked different for him early, perfect percentage, then here comes the most important game of this lost year. We had the chance to take the first Skins-Cowboys game at their new stadium, but no, it came down to 1 point, and an idiotic kicker that missed two field goals. If my math is correct that is 12-7 instead of 6-7. hmm, and then today, 33-23, but of course not, we cant rely on a 20 yard field goal, pshh, thats not cake for a guy who is getting paid to kick a ball a couple times a game, he has a hard life, poor little guy. just another problem the front office will have to address, maybe theyll go out and get morten anderson for 50 million… a year.
Actually their were many of plays that were vintage Redskins
Why anyway would expect anything else is beyond me. Finding ways to lose is just normal with this team. Yeah sure you can look at Suisham as the one who lost the game. But off the top of my head I can think of three other boneheaded incompetent plays that lost them the game.
It’s the culture of losing, the stench of incompetence that starts from the top down. We’ll ALWAYS be one player away from winning anything. Until the upper management is gone you can look forward to having a top ten pick at least every other year in the draft and Dan and Vin can look forward to pocketing your hard earned money for years to come.
One more thing, after his career day, Vinny will now convince Dan to give Devin Thomas a 13 year 125 million extension to prove that his 1st round pick is the best thing since sliced bread. Now everyone bow to Vinny.
No that's caps owner to ovie
Difference is he deserves it

lol
the missed FG cost us the game period , I would have took suisham in the locker room , broke his right leg off and beat him rite out of fedex field with it
maybe he had 20 large on the game
I have a hard time pinning the loss on the FO and it’s getting annoying as hell to see it in EVERY thread. At what point do the players on the field have responsibility for their play? Ask Suisham, I’m sure he’d own up to the blame being on him for not hitting that chippie. I’m sure Laron Landry would be at least a little bit contrrite about biting on the first move and getting his ass beat downfield. As for the things that didn’t go our way, like the fumble call (I don’t see how you overrule that guy 5 feet away from the play and not see that Sellars arm is down before the ball squirts free, but hell what can you do?) and the great play by Moore and the better play by Meacham. Still it was impressive that the ’Skins played so well with a mkeshift line and makeshift runners. The D took away their run today and outside of Landry getting his fanny waxed wtice, did what they could to slow Brees down.
I used to be disgusted, now I try to be amused....
Man this sucks
I had to lick my dogs ass for about an hour to get the bad taste out of my mouth for losing ANOTHER F#^%$*&^G game that we should have won. On the live thread the guys were talking about the black cloud that seems to be overhanging this team & I couldn’t agree more. I am pissed that we lost a game that I thought we should have won but I am really proud of the way our guys played today ( other than Suisham, man he SUX!! ) but if you would have told me Tuesday morning, after the butt whipping that the Saints put on the Pats that we would play this well against a premier team in the NFL, I would have said that you were nuts. Say what you want about Zorn but our boys are playing their asses off for him. JC had a great game, one bad pick at a terrible time but that happens to every QB. This is a much better team than their record shows, next year we will be kicking ass
seen a good game coming
this is just how we do it if no one thinks we can we make a game of it! was suprised we had the lead the whole time but losing it didnt suprise me! i thought even we cant screw this up when we were at the 4 of no up by 7 with 2 min on the clock! but pride has to kick in somewhere you cant just keep losing every week and taking the media bashing without it affecting you! good hard fought game we just need to find the guy who put a hex on this team!! wont be suprised if jerry jones paid him though!
Playing Their asses off for ZORN ??????LOL
They are actually making Zorn look like a horrible coach . Did you not see the Third down stats?? We are 50% on third downs under Sherm Lewis and we were 30% under Jim Zorn !! That is a big difference. Like I posted on my blog about DEVIN THOMAS he is instant offense !!! Jim Zorn was to much of a pansy to play him on kick offs over Rock because of locker room politics. Just imagine how many games we could have won if we had just played Devin thomas on kick off return team earlier in the year !!!!!
I have a theory why
We are 50% on third downs under Sherm Lewis and we were 30% under Jim Zorn
Zorn had this completely unimaginative play calling which was Run on 1st down every time, and teams woke up to it and stuffed the run every first down, leaving us with 2nd and long, which Zorn would inevitably throw, if incomplete, you then have 3rd and ten.
Now with Sherm, we throw much more often on 1st down, which unbalances Defences and gives us more 3rd and 3 and 3rd and 1 situations, so it is not just 3rd down where Zorn sucked, it was all around play calling,
However the way this team is still playing hard is a testament ot hsi leadership, if he took on a Gibbs 2 type Head Coach role with no play calling at all, then maybe, just maybe he is worth keeping. I’m not saying we should, I feel he is a poor clock manager and for that reason alone he has to go, but I’m just saying for all his many many many faults, there is no doubt he has this team playing hard for him when they have nothing to play for and for that he deserves credit even from his harshest critics
Pommylee
I'm actually starting to feel the same way
How could we possibly have given a guy without even OC responsibilities OC and HC? Yet, we get him some help, take away OC from him, and all of a sudden things start to click. In the interest of stability, the fact that I like the guy, and the fact I think he just might prove a lot of people wrong – we need to keep him, the current staff, and JC. Clean house with a number of veterans (CP goes first) and this team may just break thru in a year or two.
Firing Zorn, letting JC go and bringing in a new set of coaches will doom us for the next decade.
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
devin thomas has emerged, DC…..

Can him today. He’s one of the least clutch kickers in the league. Bad teams can’t afford bad kickers. Missing gimmes has cost us 2 games and that is unacceptable. They need to make an example of him and send him packing today. Playeres need to know they are accountable and losing like this is not going to be tolerated. What a joke.
While we’re at it….can Jason lead a game-winning drive? Ever? He had a good game yesterday but when it counted he wilted. This is becoming such BS.
Which time are you talking about ??
Must have been the drive that he put together when we missed the field goal to go ahead by two scores or maybe it was when Sellers fumbled the ball at the end of the game ??? JC haters or idots it does not matter what he does he will still get the blame for the loss. Why not blame Zorn for not putting in Ganther when we had 3rd and 1 near the goal line. Why would you use Mason and he is small and weak !!!
Not only should they can him today
but they should NOT hire another kicker. Force the damn offense to go for the end zone every drive until they get the hang of it.
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
I like it!
It’s not like we’re in the playoff hunt so what could it hurt to have some extra plays going for a TD.
That being said, there was plenty of blame to go around. Landry gave up 2 deep passes which hurt.
It's amazing we are ever even in a game. Every game we
- give up one or two WTF TDs to wide open receivers
- miss a game ensuring field goal
- ensure we have the opportunity to miss a game ensuring FG by not trying to make the TD at the end of a long drive
- give up at least one game-defining interception or fumble on the drive that would win it for us (three times!! this game if you include the punt from heaven landing on Barnes)
EVERY GAME – most games maybe one or two things will happen to give one team the edge. We do this all the time…We are Santa Clause come early.
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
To answer the original question,
“How do you miss an extra point length field goal?” It’s actually not as hard to do this as you may think.
Step 1 – Put on Burgandy and Gold
There is no step 2
Extreme deflection angle.
It’s possible, especially if the ball is at one of the hash marks.
Closer you get to the goalposts, the wider the angle.
Dbacks return to the WS in 2010?
Hey, it could happen.
MICROCOSM OF THE SEASON
A stolen ball for a touchdown, a punt bouncing off a crouching player, inexplicable calls by the refs – That sums up the season, even if the team IS playing better and LIKE A TEAM! The missed chip shot was just icing on the cake. The Saints were trying to figure out how to win the game while we were trying to figure out how to lose it. With the Vinny and Dan show, get used to it. www.savetheskins.com

Dbacks return to the WS in 2010?
Hey, it could happen.
trust me..
that dude is lucky he does not know me…
"When the rich wage WAR its the POOR that die!!!"
Well, he's gone now, so
How is Tiger Woods like a baby seal?
They both get clubbed by Scandinavians.
good point, he’s gone….
I read an article somewhere that said percentage wise he was better than mosely… I was like WTF? Mosely never EVER missed from 20 well ok almost never, but Clutch he was Suisham wasn’t thank god he’s gone i hope portis finally retires, ans JC, well, Even thought I think he is OK< up until the last few games he hasn’t seemed to care much. I think we can blame that on Snyder and Co shoppin him around before the season started tho.
