On the Redskin Report today, they discussed getting players, and seemed to think that it would be best for the GM to get the players (and the coach to coach them). I had thought that it would be better for the coach to pick the players, the GM go get them (how could the GM know enough to get the right players?). Snyder says he used a committee to handle the draft. Committees can be a mess, and very bad idea, partly because one person will dominate it, partly because everybody will get something, etc (too many cooks...), so probably the best way is for the coach and GM to work on it together. But who should take the lead, and ultimately decide? The GM is usually going to know more of the money and cap situation, and what can be done, whereas the coach will know more about what he needs to win football games. Seems to me it would be better for Dan to stay out of it except through Bruce. Any thoughts?
