You need only to have watched the game (or worse, actually BEEN there) to see how poisonous the owner is to this team. While we were all wondering, last night, how this could be the same team we saw last week - I no longer am surpised at what I saw on the field. Even our great secondary was pathetic. Why? Had the Giants gotten that good in a week, or had all the wind been let out of our sails?
Nobody this side of Vietnam thinks Zorn will be back next year. He never WAS a head coach , and that's not why he came here. But, while Allen is answering uncomfortable coaching questions by the media, and responding, "That position is not vacant", Dan the rocket scientist is meeting with the secondary coach about possibly being considered for the head coaching position, and everyone in the organization knew it. The team hadn't been playing for pride, they've been playing for Zorn. Zorn was humiliated, again, in front of his players, classic Snyder.
I have been accused of delivering a message of hate about Snyder, simply because I was making SELL THE TEAM, DAN bumperstickers available. Ok, sue me. I want him to sell the team. Riggins has been openly criticized because he said that Snyder has a "dark heart". Well, if any of you have EVER worked for someone who run his business by fear, you will know what it was like to work for Snyder in marketing, broadcasting or the Redskins. I don't hate Snyder. I hate what he has done to my team, my friends and family, my town.
He treated every coach and their staff, with the exception of Gibbs, shabbily. Norv didn't deserve the way he was treated, and Zorn, an equally decent man, has stood up at the podium week in and week out like a sacrifical lamb.
Bringing in Allen is a great idea, as long as you let him do his job. But Snyder won't. And he didn't even let his big PR ploy last a week before he cut the rug out from under his players by meeting with a candidate for Zorn's replacement, someone on Zorn's staff. (And yes, we've all heard rumors of other ex-NFL coaches being in the running for the job, but that goes with the territory. Does ANYONE with any pedigree REALLY want to come here?)
Snyder obviously earned his fortune micromanaging his marketing business. I thought he was a smart guy. I applauded someone so young, such a fan, for pulling off the purchase of the team. But in 10 years, he has shown he is as ignorant in management of a football team as he is brilliant in maxing the dollars he can get out of it (and us). As for his treatment of people, you need only see how he treats his hires to know he has no regard for us, the fans.
