Charlie Casserly

Is there any way we can lure Charlie back to DC to become our GM? I really likes him when he was here pre-snyder.  He also did a good job with the Texans.  I know he has a nice, prssure-free gid with NFL network, but I wonder if he would put that career on hold for a while and come back to help in the rebuilding of this team.

Any thoughts on this?

Snyder burned that bridge and he couldn’t work for Snyder again. If someone fired me over Cerrato, I would never want to come back either.

I'll second both points

Yes the parasite Snyder would never hire him, because it would be tantamount to admitting he was wrong

BUT

It would be the best thing that could happen, Casserly had the courage to pass on VY and Reggie Bush, with the VY being especially difficult as it was a Texas team, because he knew, that in Indy’s division you had to get pressure on Manning, he basically got fired for it, even though it has been proven he was right, the man has the courage that Washington needs, but that is the exact reason Snyder will never hire him, because Snyder is a small weak man

Actually, not true

So he fired Casserly in September.

"You fired the wrong guy," Casserly told him.

"If you’re right," Snyder shot back, "you’ll be one of the first to know."

After Snyder fired Turner, he says, he called Casserly and said, "You were right."

I still doubt that Casserly would be hired though.

WOW!!!

That (if true) really blows me away, i just cannot see Snyder doing that, I really cant.

The reason I say if true, is that there is self interest for both sides to let that rumour grow, it lets Snyder seem less egotistical which is his main nagtive publicly and its good for Casserlys cache to let a story like that be out there,

But if true I ahve to give credit to Snyder for admitting he was wrong, although, he still didnt go back and hire him did he, no, he stuck with the rat faced sunglass wearing charlatan that is Cerrarto

Really post Gibbs-1 era how many times did the Skins go to the playoffs in the 90s with Casserly at GM? Once? Also, how many times did Houston go to the playoffs? Come on man

all true

I was never a big fan of Casserly when he was here, but I’d take him in a heartbeat over Vinny. At least he knows what the GM is supposed to do. Also, I tend to think that he’s learned a lot since he left. When he was here, all he knew was Redskins, since this was the only place he’d ever worked. Now I think he knows a lot more, having gone to Texas, worked for the league, and now working for NFL network. Also, one thing that can’t be overlooked, is the fact that he was the one guy who thought Mario Williams was a better pick than Bush AND Vince Young. Gotta give him credit for that.

Now, all that said, I don’t see any way, he comes back to work for Snyder.

Give Charley better office assistance

and he would be a top ten GM in this league. :)

Even Satan thinks Scott Boras is evil.

Nah, unfortunately.

I know Joe Gibbs 2.0 got us all thinking about the good ol’ days, but that’s all in the past.

Unless we can hire the reanimated corpse of George Allen to take control of this defense-first Redskins team.

Even Satan thinks Scott Boras is evil.
